Man, there is no way I would want to live where there are tornadoes. Just looking at that photo is scary enough for me.

I've seen one less than a mile from my home. They're a fact of life around here. I wouldn't care to live where there are a lot of earthquakes. Just sayin'.

Yeah, but we've lived here 26 years without an earthquake. In fact, this area is deemed least prone to earthquakes by all the major insurance companies. Stockton has never had an earthquake to date - knock wood.

How did you manage to find a spot in California without earthquakes?
I didn't think there was such a place.

We get the odd one or three a year here. Couple years ago it took the roof off the high school gym in one of the towns, and uprooted a 100 yo oak.

I wasn't around for the 1924 tornado that devastated Lorain, Ohio where I live. It wound it's way down Broadway Ave. and destroyed a movie theater full of people. Thank goodness we have doppler warnings now. I keep a battery operated radio, blankets, lantern and other supplies in my basement "just in case."

I'd understand them in Ohio, I'm in Eastern Oregon, not what you'd normally consider tornado country. But we have 2-3 a year in the area.

I grew up in Tornado Alley - St Louis, MO and I have been through several - both small and huge. If I had the money, I would be a storm chaser!!!

One of the stories I have been working on involves Illya wanting to experience a tornado while dealing with THRUSH.

I would love to read that story when you complete it. Let me know? "Twister" is one of my favorite movies.

I've learned that if the sky is green, like the emerald city, that is not a good thing unless your name is Dorothy. Keep your shoes on.

I am very there are no tornados or earthquakes here. Well once every so many years we have a very minor earthquake, but I don´t count these.
I am getting scared just watching that picture !

I witnessed one minor earthquake and that was enough. Tornadoes are in a class all their own. All you can do is be prepared, know when they are likely to occur and listen to the weatherman.
