This is a bit late to be announcing it, but Amazon.com and Penguin Putnam are presenting a contest called the "Breakthrough Novel Award." The winner gets a $25,000 advance from Penguin, their novel published, and a professional review by Publisher's Weekly. The work must be unpublished, and 50-150,000 words in length. Deadline is February 8th. I'm definitely going to try for it.
