My next project...
So, I'm back in Minnesota after clearing out of the dorm. The apartment has gotten nicer in the months since I've been. We have TVs in every room (except the bathrooms, since that would be redundant) and I officially have a bed to sleep on, albeit one geared towards the tastes of a girl half my age. I went to a graduation party, which was really fun. It was for a girl I've been friends with since pre-school. I hadn't seen her in a long-time, and she looked gorg. Her father, whose a really nice guy, shortly after I arrived.
Friend's Dad: "Well, Brittany, it's been such a long time. I didn't even recognize you! My first thought was 'Who's this hot number? I think you're at the wrong party but you can stay as looong as you want.'"
Me: "O.o. So... do you still like boating, Mr. Newman?"
It was a little awkward, but kinda funny too. I guess friend's parents still have libidos too, it just makes you realize how much things have changed when men who used to help bathe you are now playfully flirting with you. Anybody else had weird experiences with friend's parents?
Their neighbor is a pilot at Northwest Airlines. He entertained me with a lot of great stories about what goes on in the cockpit during commercial flights. It gave me some great story cues.
Today, I went to a world market, where I was able to get both a Chai Bubble Tea and some great falafel with hummus and lamb. I feel bad for eating lamb, but it has such a delicate flavor. There was also a great belly dancer there, whose eye I somehow caught. We thought about getting organic cherries for two dollars (excellent price) but my little sister started throwing a fit, forcing us to vacate early.
I've been thinking a lot about my future lately and what I see in it. Success is something that is very important to me. I'm thinking once I start making six figures, I'll get myself a house out in a secluded mountain town. When it comes to work, I've always wanted to work in seclusion, dealing with others as little as possible. I need to get some practice done writing scripts, so I thought I'd do a couple of specs just for fun. Which Ideas sound the best?
- a remake of Mortal Kombat?
- a remake of Highlander?
- a comedy/horror about a middle-aged Mexican maid who has to exorcise the ghosts of a ritzy hotel.
