An Open Letter to the Florida Men's Basketball team
Dear Florida Men's Basketball,
I don't know what to say. Fuck all of you.
no seriously, YOU ARE ALL WORTHLESS HACKS AND I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anthony Roberson. What good is your talent and ability during the regular season if you decide to go 2 for 9000000 during the tournament. At one point does it dawn on you that maybe you should stop taking errant threes. After you've missed 200 in a row? 300?
You won't get an NBA contract by not showing up to play in the NCAA tournament games.
What has made you Gators unbearable to watch in March Madness over the past 5 years isn't just losing in the first or second round. Look, basketball games often come down to one play, and sometimes, no matter how hard or well you perform, you come up on the losing end. That's just life, and that wouldnt aggravate me nearly as much. What disgusts me is HOW you've lost in the past 5 years. When you lost to Creighton in Double OT in the first round, well, that was bearable because it even though you lost and didnt play up to your abilities, you still played your hearts out. But then what? Getting completley handled by Temple,losing 54-75. The next year, getting worked by 8th seed Michigan State in the second round, and then being outrebounded by MAN-FUCKING-HATTAN last year as they went on to rout your sorry asses.
Losing is one thing.
Consistently being out-hustled and out-hearted by lesser teams is another.
I thought this year was different. I really did. You FINALLY started playing with a purpose in March, taking the SEC championship. But really, what's the fucking point. So I hope you enjoy your memories in Atlanta and winning a meaningless tournament. Because when it comes down to games that really matter, none of you show up. Never have, and never will.
