Hasan
Today I went to the Memorial Service for Hasan, a classmate of mine at Bolles who commited suicide a week ago. I really won't go into any emotional detail regarding the incident, but I would like to reiterate the big tragedy of Hasans loss. The world really lost someone last week. Although I was never close with Hasan, I always regarded him as one of the most intelligent persons i know. Hasan was a devout Muslim who remained true to his heritage but also very aware about the realities of Islamic life in the Middle East. There was no telling what he could have accomplished for Islam, and the whole world itself. Hasan, I hope you find the peace in the next world that you never found in this one.
