SGA S4 Carter Stuff

Apr 06, 2007 13:33

Ok, for those of you who commented on my Carter comment...I got the information from scans of the latest Amanda Tapping interview in SciFi Mag H E R E. Perhaps I interpreted her words wrong or AT isn't/wasn't sure of her role...but out of it, I got "command".

What do you think after reading the interview?

I got command out of it for sure. Also the whole her ish in Weir's office is basically confirmation.

I think it'll be interesting. I'm very interested in how the dynamics change. I'm really hoping it ends up the way NCIS got better after Cote joined the cast.

I'm not 100% excited, but I have faith in the writers.

Yup. Definitely "command"... especially with the whole "Carter gets to try out the leadership role now!" thing...

I'm kinda torn. I love Torri & Weir. And I know a lot of ppl on my flist are boycotting season 4 because of the whole recurring role thing. But I also love Amanda & Carter. I only got into SG-1 recently, so I'm not "sick of her" like all the ppl on my flist... Plus I love the McKay/Carter snark. I guess we'll have to watch s4 to see what's gonna happen...

Same here. She's never been my favorite character, but I enjoy her.

I'm just going to trust the crew for now. It's still new, so I'm going in with no horrible (or exceedingly excited) thoughts.

I.. can't bring myself to care. I love Amanda. I love Torri. I love the writers of this show (for the most part) and trust their abilities to make this work. I'm gonna watch this show until it's canceled.

It frustrates me that SO many people are choosing to NOT watch the show because of casting/spoilers/whatever, because you can't know how bad/good an episode is going to be unless you've SEEN it. And then there are the people (not pointing fingers, I swear) that are making ridiculous assumptions and whatnot, when they don't have all the information, and then they go and act like they know *everything* about the show.

Bah. Whatever. I love both shows, so I don't care about characters crossing over.

(And then there are the people who think the producers/TPTB are forcing Amanda onto the show, and not letting her spend time on Sanctuary. lmfao. Idiots.)

I totally agree. Well, I'm not Carter's number one fan, but I do like her and have no issue with her coming over. I love Weir and so I'm a little sad we won't see her as much, but like you said, I trust them to make it work. I am incredibly comfortable with new characters being introduced (I love Ziva on NCIS, I loved Doggett and Reyes joining XF) with only one exception and so I'm staring out 4th season with the assumption SGA will be the latter and I'll enjoy it just as much as before.

Mainly, I just have a few semantics I'm both curious and excited to see how they work (like the new commander being higher rank than Shep), but no objections.

Haha, as to your last comment, I've seen some comments on Joe M's blog about "them" forcing Torri out and forcing Amanda in. I mean, really. It's not the 1940's anymore where people were contracted solely to one studio and if they left they couldn't take jobs elsewhere. These people have enough time and talent to do what they want...certainly no one's forcing them to continue. *shakes

I can't really read the article cause it hurts me eyes. :D But, even after reading the first two lines you can pretty much guess where it's headed. Oh man, it sucks. I didn't like the whole thing to begin with, but then I understood she's only getting a ship and not the command, so I was fine with that. But this? No thanks.
