Of course it was about Benny. That was the whole point. Dean and Charlie was talking about how Sam broke up with Amelia and that relationship was paralleled by Dean having to break up (away from) Benny so that he and Sam are committed to the hunt and each other again.
Which yeah, makes total sense to me (and is 100% what the writers did there), but it seems everyone on tumblr has come to the conclusion that in the last episode Dean broke up with Castiel (because they're currently separated, I guess?) and not Benny. I don't know if they're ridiculously naive/blinded by the D/C love or if they're deliberately ignoring Benny. Either way...I'm annoyed.lol
Yah, I've never really liked Destiel (though it's better than Dastiel!), or mashing of names generally. I guess I started fandom in an era when mashing ship names wasn't done! Beyond the few obvious (McShep) or the super accurate (Caskett), I'm not a fan. I only use it to tag on tumblr.
Charlie gets to kiss a girl so Dean never has to kiss a boy!YES. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that they had it, that Charlie and her attraction to girls is (generally) treated quite casually. But it was done to give us something to calm our demand for same-sex relationships, not as a precursor for more. Fans are very naive if they think that's what it was. (Let's not forget, it's more okay for girls to be seen kissing still then men. Especially on a show that tries to cater to men still
