Jeff Eastin on White Collar finale

Interview with Jeff Eastin

Ok, so there's a few things. One, when I watched the finale, at the end, Neal comes up to Peter and Kramer talking where Kramer is telling Peter he's going to keep Neal with him in DC, basically forever. Peter sees Neal and sees Neal taking in the situation and to me...he shakes his head. Basically saying "don't do it" because he knows what Neal is thinking. And his response to the question of whether Neal should get released or not - as a yes - confirmed that to me, especially combined by his look of shock when Diana comes in to tell him Neal's cut his anklet.

But Jeff Eastin says: The difference here is Peter gave Neal the nod to go. That nod really changes everything.

WHAT?! I swear to God, it was a shake, not a nod. And then, I don't understand the final scenes with Peter.

That being said, I like the idea that Peter let him go. Because whoa does that change everything. Ten minutes before he was still wondering what to tell the committee and then he tells Neal to run? HOW IS NEAL COMING BACK FROM THIS?! (This was my question even before I read Eastin's comments.)

But then he continues on: He’s tracking Neal for a different reason than he was the first time.

And I'm all

because my shippy little heart is like PETER IS GOING TO FIND NEAL BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO KNOW HE'S OKAY AND BRING BACK BECAUSE HE LUUUUVS HIM!!! And because El told Peter, "You'd better get him back."

Oh, God, I can't handle it. WHITE COLLAR, I LOVE YOU.
