Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Ok, I promise, this isn't a spoiler. It neither concerns movie nor book plot. It's a comment on a small thing in a fight scene. And a few general/vague observations.

So, remember in one of the many fight scenes at the end, Voldemort suddenly has like, wisps of cloth that he can control, apparently, and he tangles Harry up in them?

Some girl behind me whispered to her friend about how they apparently had been reading fanfic and made a nod to tentacle porn in the movie. I actually LOLed partly because a) I'd been thinking the EXACT SAME THING and b) I am just always amused when I hear fandom stuff in RL because I know what people are talking about but my friends with me would have had no idea.

A few other brief thoughts:

Never before have I seen the slash. I remember going through all the books knowing - and wanting - Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione because I loved all three friends becoming part of the same family. And yeah, I still do. But IDK if it's just that I watch EVERYTHING with slash goggles now or if I'm just so innundated by all you lovelies who slash them but for the first time, I went "huh" at Draco and Harry. I mean, I knew Harry went back to get him, but then he was riding the broom and thinking about Draco couldn't kill Dumbledore and...yeah, I saw it. I get the dynamic. And then at one point near the end, Harry, Ron, and Hermione all hold hands and I thought to myself "OT3...with a little Draco on the side". *facepalm*

My final thought is probably controversial. But, to be honest, I wasn't overly thrilled. It's not that I didn't like it, and I certainly wasn't livid throughout the whole thing (God, I HATED Voyage of the Dawn Treader), but I was just...meh. Good parts, awesome visuals as usual, but it felt super slow-paced at certain points. You could tell they were going for dramatic pause but I was just like, really? we're going to stalk around Harry some more? Maybe it's just because it's been so long since I read the book...

Your thoughts on HP7.2? "Spoilers" allowed.
