Can we talk about this season 3 promo?
This promo makes me SUPER NERVOUS. Now, via twitter, Jeff has assured us that this season is about Peter and Neal (I guess rather than Neal and Sara), but I'm afraid it's going to be about betrayal. While I sort of love the idea of Neal being so much better, so much smarter than everyone already thinks he is, by basically being a triple agent (think Krycek but minus the aliens and one arm-ness), it would BREAK MY HEART. The show is absolutely about the trust that has developed after the intrigue and cat-and-mouse game that was Peter-the-FBI-agent and Neal-the-slick-criminal. I can't bear to see Neal betray all that. To me, it's not Neal. I can handle some moral greyness, absolutely. If he has done bad things but demonstrates that it all has been for Peter (think Cas and Dean in King), I'm fine. But I don't know if I trust the writers! I'm hoping it's all a con that Peter knows about, and not a true betrayal of Peter. I can't handle a break up!!!
