Alright, I marathoned this show in about 3 days, so I thought I'd make a few notes (because being such a BSG fan, how could I not?).

I can see why Caprica was canceled. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't as good as BSG. For all the issues of BSG (the occasional super slow eps, the poor writing that sometimes slipped in), it was truly on a higher ( Read more... )

I kept up with Caprica until SyFy took it off their schedule, and then I lost the thread of what they were doing. I think the series works much, much better when you watch them one after the other rather than from week to week, because it's easy to lose track of what's going on and the deepening plots.

That being said, I enjoyed the Adama background as "immigrants" of a sense, along with the tattoos and all that culturism. I dug that. I also didn't mind the religious aspects to the show, which is also what I enjoyed about the original BSG (along with flying ships and space battles and kick-ass Kara Thrace).

You remember that scene in the original BSG when Anders had to have brain surgery and then he was explaining how the Five came to Kobol and all that history? I actually had to pause all that and write shit down to understand what the hell it all meant.

I gave up after a while when I was supposed to believe Kara was a ghost/angel/whatever. It *never* made sense to me, and I guess that's part of the reason I never continued with the rest of Caprica. As much as I loved it, I just didn't care anymore.
