Ramblings of A Butthurt Fangirl
Hey, I'm back! Sorta. Despite now paying for the internet in our new place, it seems to be no better than the sporadic internet we had before the cable company came.
In other news, I still have two fics I HAVE to finish. Ugh, it shouldn't be so hard. But between moving and work and friend drama I haven't had much time to spend writing and whenever I do get time, I seem to have lost all inspiration.
Following that...I think part of my lack of inspiration comes because I'm very frustrated by all the spoilers coming out about season 6 of SPN. Although, THIS spoiler is the first to make me happy since I knew Misha and Mark Sheppard were coming back for sure. I enjoy that actor. And the character sounds awesome. But beyond that, I am SPN fandomed out. I never feel like rewatching my DVDs, I can't write, and I get very unhappy with Show and with the other fans of late (not those of you on my flist. Or at least not probably you ;) ). I don't know that I'll leave fandom, but I may fade away (again) like I did with Heroes. Though I hope season 6 blows me out of the water and I'm clamoring back. *shrugs*
I've been watching my SGA DVDs and MAN, do I miss Sheppard and McKay. Epic love with a tinge of a savior complex, but not so dysfunctional or codependent, you know? They're just down right cute. I miss them and I miss SGA. I like Universe, but it's just not as good in the same way as SGA. It's probably a better crafted show (thus far), but it doesn't have the spark SGA did. (In related news, did you all see Joe Flanigan joined Twitter? NGL, he's kind of hilarious. And UNF that hair! *pets*)
That being said, what I really want is something new and shiny. I'm really into Rizzoli & Isles right now, but just like with NCIS and NCIS: LA and Castle, I just can't do fandom for cop shows for some reason. Although, I'm not going to turn down Jane and Maura fanfic, no siree. It looks like next week's ep is going to play on the femmeslash vibe, too. *claps hands in excitement* And then I've just started watching The Pillars of the Earth on Starz and I'm digging that, but again, it doesn't inspire me to rush and join fandom. And I haven't heard any shows I'm overly thrilled about coming out in the fall, either. Although apparently, I think it's Outcast that has been compared to BSG? I have no idea the plot, but that at least intrigues me. But seriously, at this point, I feel the thing I'm most excited about coming this fall on TV is Conan on TBS.lol
WHERE HAS ALL THE HAPPY, SHINY FANDOMNESS GONE?!
This is the point where the next Star Trek movie needs to come out so I can get more of my Kirk/Spock and Pinto fixes. Aww, I miss Zach and Chris on my flist/ONTD every day.
A final thought for those of you who have seen the SPN S5 gag reel now: What is Misha WEARING??! That horrid red plaid shirt with the green tie? WHY!?!? And also, everybody fakes their voice on Show. It's so weird to hear Jensen speak at regular man levels and Misha at slightly higher than normal man levels. When he says "Confetti! It's a parade!" I swear to God, it doesn't even sound like him - not even convention!Misha. And El Oh El at his laugh before he says it. I'm not used to hearing him laugh quite so...nasal and obnoxious. It's HILARIOUS.
