Bon Iver - Holocene. It's beautiful! Bon Iver's new album is so beautiful. I want him to sing everything ever. It's less sparse than the songs in For Emma, Forever Ago, but still definitively Bon Iver. I'm downloading (legally, even!) his new album as I type and I'm so so excited.
Joanna Newsom - Cosmia. I think you do either love Joanna Newsom or regard her with a mixture of suspicion and confusion (or fear, if you're Ana). I love her and her lyrics are incredibly gorgeous.
Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls - End of an Era. My favourite wrock song, and also probably the one with the most musical merit. Not that I don't love Harry and the Potters! But you know. DRACO MALFOY WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?
Fiona Apple - Never is a Promise. Because Fiona is still amazing, and this song is 14 years old and still sounds as lovely as ever. And playing it on the piano makes me feel like a piano God.
Adrianne - 10,000 Stones. I just like this because it's really soothing. Like, seriously soothing. Until it gets to the last minute or so, then it's not that soothing.
Loudon Wainright - The Swimming Song. Loudon Wainwright is SUPER funny. And I just love this song? I don't even know why, really, just that whenever I get really panicky I can put it on and it cheers me up immediately.
Bobby Long - Left to Lie. This is a lovely, laid-back one-man-and-his-guitar song and it's calming and I adore it.
