Okay, first of all: sorry for not uploading anything last week, but I was soooo sooo busy with university stuff D:!!
But as sort of compensation, this post has 90+ pictures xD. Because a shit town of cool things happened in the last two weeks! I'm still kind of exhausted and very happy that the coming Tuesday is a holiday here and there will be no classes, yesh =B!
So my fangirl heart would without a doubt say that this purchase was the best I made during the last couple of weeks. It's a concert ticket for VAMPS *w*~~~! (If you haven't heard of VAMPS, it's a Japanese rock band and their singer HYDE is also part of the pretty popular band L'Arc~en~Ciel.) I looooooove HYDE to bits and I thought I would never be able to see him perform live since he's quite old already x'DD. And then they announced their 666 tour, I'm so happy x3!! So this will be on November 18th and I'm all but dying with excitement. And even better yet: the pre act is HIM. Whom I adore as well. I've seen HIM live once before about seven years ago in Washington D.C. and I know it's going to be awesome again. AND EVEN BETTER YET, the concert hall is on Odaiba, one of my favourite places in Tokyo x3. So yeah, count me one happy fangirl x3.
Last friday, there was a welcome party at an Okonomiyaki restaurant. Okonomiyaki are basically giant pancakes made of dough and cabagge and you can put whatever you want on them...
My favourite was the seafood one x3. Tentacles.
And yakisoba with eggs, hmmm!
Yeah, pretty selfexplanatory. Seems like I have to take a picture whenever I see something remotely German lol. Sorry.
Okonomiyaki-chef at work!
Amongst our group of exchange students and japanese students, there is one particular boy, Kaoru, who honoured me with a portrait. Ain't that nice. We were practising German as well. It's pretty accurate, too.
The following weekend (i don't even remember the day lol.) the whole group went to climb mount Tsukuba. And had I known before that this was going to feel like climbing the stairs to hell, I would have politely declined lol. Here's a picture of Mount Tsukuba taken from our bus. Doesn't look all that impressive, but the motherfsker made a lasting impression on me, that's for sure.
And look who greeted us at the bus stop. A toad. A fat one. Apparently, toads are kind of famous in that region? Because they were everywhere. The Japanese word for toad is Kaeru. The more you know.
The gateway to a miraculous adventure full of pain and danger. (No, I'm exaggerating. But I really just don't want to climb that mountain again xDDD.)
Cute souvenier shop at the bus stop. We were already pretty far up and the view was amazing. Should have just stayed there when I had the chance.
The souvenier shop was packed with toads.
And the neighbouring streets as well.
This was the gate to the tempel area, which was so so so pretty. I could have stayed there all day, but we kind of had to hurry if we wanted to make it to the top and back again before sunset.
Not a frog, but apparently patting the cow grants you good fortune. That's Kaoru's hand. He likes to be funny.
Next: some pictures of the pretty temple area without many words, because... there are just too many pictures xDD.
You can see part of our group here x3. Everyone properly washing their hands before coming too close to the temple. The japanese guy on the far right is Kaoru and that other Japanese guy in the center is Hikaru. There's one more in our group: Junya, but he only joined us at the top of the mountain because he missed our bus lol.
Shiisa x3.
I asked Kaoru about those weird things in the gate and he said they are probably sponsors.
THIS omg, this is probably my favourite Shiisa so far. Just look at how pretty it is x3. That was my highlight of the day, hands down xD.
That's his counterpart. While the first Shiisa was all pretty and clean and sunny, this one stood in the shade and had already all kinds of plants and spiders crawling on him. x3
And this is where the real odyssey started.
Climbing that freaking mountain was really not easy. The road was so uneven, full of tree roots and fsking huge boulders that sometimes you actually had to get over them on hands and feet lol. Usually, I like this kind of stuff, but about half way up I just got sooo exhausted xD. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get to the top. I need to do more sports, seriously.
Hahahaha, yeah. Go ahead and break your neck. Idiot.
Fsking huge trees.
Aaaaand this was the top (nearly). I would love to say it was worth the climb but quite honestly... the feeling of being utterly exhausted kind of ruined the view xD. But I want to go again, since I love high places. But next time I'm going to take the cable car to the top.
Frog souveniers x3 so cute.
Also there was a giant rock shaped like a frog with an opened mouth. And they said that if you manage to throw a pebble into its mouth and it stays there, you'll have good fortune. I managed that on my second try, yay me. So I rubbed a cow and threw a pebble into a frog's mouth. Where's all my good fortune, huh?
On the way to the cable car station to go back down.
The view from the cable car station and the cable car was admittedly really nice x3.
On the ride back. Everyone was exhausted x'D... so cute, gaw. The lady on the right seems mildly annoyed tho xD.
That was my trip to mount Tsukuba. It was nice, I have to admit that... still, next time: no climbing. xD
Now some random pictures from the following week. Found a guy with a minions cap and pestered him to allow me to take a picture of it xD.
And on tuesday in the glass art class. That's how my bunny looks like right now xD. The shape is filled with glass. Next steps will be to clean the glass and smooth it.
While the first project was in the oven, we started on our second one. We were supposed to design a plate, so... kitteh.
Then on wednesday, there was a kind of German fair at the university where we did presentations of our home universities and stuff. After that: dinner. They had wurst. WURST! ... but it felt SO wrong to eat it with chopsticks. Seeing it next to sushi is also kind of weird xDDDD.
Also everyone was supposed to wear name tags... guess who wanted to be funny again. (He is actually pretty funny, tho xD)
On thursday, the bunch went out for running sushi! First time I tried mini fish sushi. Wouldn't recommend it xDDD.
The sushi place had a couple of seriously cute gachas at the entrance.
Of course I had to get one of the sushi cats.
After that we went to a department store called don quijote (everyone just calls it donky tho) and had fun with their hallween costumes xDD.
Idk. Seriously. I want to buy it just to have it and laugh about it.
And this. omg. lol.
This is what I ended up buying tho x3. I LOVE Stitch and I've always wanted a kigurumi x3. And in fact, I'm wearing it right now and it's so comfy and soft and warm and perfect x3!!
Here it is in all it's glory! xD
You might wonder why I'm wearing slippers in the upper picture. That's because I was at an elementary school for a halloween party with the kids! The school had asked to university if there were any foreign students that would like to participate in the halloween party games and speak a little english with the kids. Naturally, I immediately signed up for that xD.
Went with a friend, Ana, and took a selfie, yay.
That was the school x3. Pretty posh and elite and apparently really expensive.
The classes are insanely small. Right now they only have 55 students in total. I'd love to work there, unnng x3.
Aaaaand that's it xD! I'll try to post again next Sunday! Have a nice week, everyone!
