Shields Up!

Right so this weekend was supposed to be most excellent. It was going to be sunny, happy, summer and I was going to look at my new tattoo that’s being designed, buy yet another travel book and watch all the good looking people who appear when the sun comes out. Good plan no?

The Bad
Instead I had to work...on a Saturday which is just plain wrong. Then there’s the weather, I know its a very British thing to moan about the weather but still in the week Im stuck in an office with no air conditioning, windows that don’t open and far to many computers and its 25 degrees outside with clear blue skies, come the weekend its rainstorms! What the hell? So that’s 2 with number 3 being that my viewing at the tattoo studio was canceled which isn’t really her fault because its a huge piece and quite complex but its abit deflating since I'd been looking forward to it all week.

The Good
Well Dawn (the tattoo lady) said that she was enjoying designing the piece and thinks it really interesting which just made me even more excited about it, She said shes setting Monday as a target to get it done so I'll be sneaking off from work early one night to go have a look. The work nickname of "Pedders" is official, twice in one day, I've decided not to be paranoid and embrace it as a good thing. Three weeks and I'll be driving around in California. I've found a new favorite band! Beirut, hes like some bizarre Russian folksy pop greatness but hes actually from Brooklyn? Think Decemberist but Russian in a clichéd Vodka and Boris Yeltsin kinda way.

Maybe it wasn’t so bad a weekend after all.
