This weekend's been really nice and relaxing. I was able to tidy up the room, do all the laundry and chores, and that's probably why I got so bored today because I ran out of housework to do! I was so bored I wanted to sleep by the time it hit 6 pm. I managed to keep myself awake by viewing fashion designer collections from Fall 2007 and Spring 2008, something I've been meaning to do for awhile.
Some of this is old (since it IS the fashion world), so I apologise to those who probably have seen these a million times and are bored of them already. Also to be honest, I don't know how to talk about fashion, so I'll show you what I loved instead:
BURBERRY PRORSUM
FALL 2007
Absolutely loved the black, metallics and textures. If Patrick Wolf were on the catwalk here, I would be SO happy.
LUELLA
FALL 2007
SPRING 2008
Batgirl + dresses + geeks!
BALENCIAGA
FALL 2007
Yeah, I know, it's a bit cliched to say I loved the Balenciaga collection, but it's gorgeous...! Blazers and multicultural prints, so wonderful.
ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
FALL 2007
I ♥ Alexander McQ. Period.
BIBA
FALL 2007
I love tailored men's inspired wear for women. The rest of this collection is so-so, quite disappointing for Biba.
BETSEY JOHNSON
FALL 2007
PHILLIP LIM
FALL 2007
MARC JACOBS
FALL 2007
So adorable. I love the fur boots!
GARETH PUGH
I know I'm a bit slow, but I can't believe I only found out about Gareth Pugh recently, what with him being mentioned and being featured a lot at/in Dazed & Confused mag. His experimental flamboyant works are drawn from his personal experiences of Britain's extreme club scene. I love his works, I think he's amazing!
SPRING 2008
FALL 2007
SPRING 2007
FALL 2006
Ahaha, the most pluggage out of all the other designers! I can't help it, he's just so talented. He's not to everyone's tastes though, so I can't blame you if you don't like him. Although he's adored by the fashion elite (
Anna Wintour's his biggest fan!), Gareth has admitted that he has yet to sell one dress and struggles to make ends meet. He is slowly shifting to designing more wearable clothing (as can be seen in his more recent collections), and now everyone is waiting to see if he can be a commercial success.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Besides these featured here, I've yet to see other designer's collections, so I'm bound to find more that I like!
Now that the fashion stuff is done, the 23rd October will be my last day at D&C. I suppose I feel relieved about it, but I'll explain more soon about my time there. I have a strong feeling I might not wanna work at a magazine though...
I'm booking an appointment with the hairdressers on Wednesday for the week after (it's at a hair academy, so you have to book a week in advance). I can't wait to get my hair cut.
P.S. I got sick of my current background and changed it with one I've used 2 years ago.
