Over the weekend I get loads of LJ post ideas so I have a glut on Monday mornings... sorry for the triple posting!
We have a little Buddha collection in our living room, and I thought I should take pictures of them and make a little record for posterity. It's interesting how the faces change with the country.
This one's Laoitian.
Indian. I'm assuming North Indian because of the almost european features.
I had 2 photos for each head, but somehow the frontal one for the Laoitian one messed up... so that's why that's not cut.
Thai
Also Thai. Although Thai/Cambodian is a bit ambiguous sometimes, there's alot of overlapping influences.
Cambodian.
See the flat nose?
And finally, my personal favourite. Indonesian (from Borobudur actually, flamingkitten, did you see any of these child Buddhas when you were there?) Made from volcanic rock.
Also of note is the different hair stylings...
