This weekend was possibly the most incredible weekend of the summer... ok... it was so far.
I went to New York and stayed with Jen S. and her mom and jay are the most amazing parents. I felt royal... but seriously, they were soooooo nice.
I left work and got to the bus station for the 6 o'clock bus and got into new york at 9:30. We watch "Legend of Zorro" amazing.
I get off at Port Authority and have to get a cab to Penn Station for 10:19.... so i'm out waiting for a cab and these three guys are wrecking somebody's cardboard home. Like stomping on it so i was like "shit" but I stayed with my arm up for another minute. then the police come running from port authority and to the side street from where i was and they were screaming, "hey stop that, did you hear me? did you f'in hear me, get away from him" and then two men start walking defensively toward the police. I heard two f'bombs and got out of there immediately.
So I get a block away and i put my hand up, this other lady has her hand up in front of me but a taxi pulls up to me... she runs for my cab but i jump in it and slam the door in her face! ok.... so she was a few feet behind the cab but i still got it and she had to wait with the home wreckers and police attackers.
got to penn station fine, tickets, boarded and got into great neck not too late.
forward: Saturday
we woke up saturday after watching a bit of stephen lynch "live at el ray" and had breakfast and got ready to go into the city for "The Wedding Singer" starring... Stephen Lynch!
for lunch we went to a cuban resturant and the food was soooo good. I never thought i would like cuban food, we went there when we went to rent in september but i was cautious. I didn't go way out on the limb this time but i was braver than the previous time.
After some mulling around we heading towards the theatre to see "The Wedding Singer" and it was amaaaaazing!!!! I have a gazillion songs stuck in my head and all the 80s references were astounding.... and Lynch... did i mention stephen lynch is robbie.... he was PERFECT. He is a really good actor as well. anyhoot....
after the show... I MET HIM!!! as in got his autograph, picture with jen and several solo shots of him.... omg.... I am in love! I didn't know what to say so i didn't say anything.... I was actually starstruck. Talking to celebs is second nature to Jen, lucky. doesn't matter hahaha.
Oh! but at the end of the performance, Stephen was like, "I have a name i am supposed to read, where is __________? Now, your getting married and you decided to be all wild and crazy and... come to a play for your bachelorette party? When are you getting married (in one week) ooooh... well have you... have found a... a.... what do you call it... groom?" hysterical.
next we were going to take a horse and buggy ride through central park but it was sooooo hot so we decided to head back to jen's house and finish stephen lynch... but not before....
WE bought SWEENEY TODD tickets!!!! muahahahahaha!! The rivival and the original are soooo different.... i think i'd have to give the revival another shot, but right now, I love the original. It was good though and interesting. The set and the characters... The best part was that each character played at least one instrument and none of the characters left the stage.... ever! and some of them would switch off instruments... once was even in the middle of a song... Beadle Bamford was playing the piano and then Toby just stepped right in and continued without a pause.... i mean... that's amazing! and he had just put down his violin... major talent in that cast.
after the performance we stayed to meet the entire cast and it was sooo cool. I actually got up some nerve and stroke a convo with sweeney. and johanna.... i told johanna that she was much better than the johanna on the dvd. I won't say what i said to michael (sweeney) cause it's embarrassing... but i did babble a little and say that i saw the cast and him on regis and kelly and knew i had to come see the revival because i was a big fan of the original.
Oh on sunday we went to ollie's for chinese food and it was yummy.
And, Saturday night Jen and I played with our food and batteries. We took pictures to symbolize how my camera eats up batteries. And pictures with our lemons in our mouth, on forks and in various positions.
We attempted to watch "Urinetown" but didn't really get into it. Jay came down and informed us "Pretty in Pink" was on so we opted for that.
Skip back to sunday, bus ride home, watched "chronicles of narnia."
that's that... i heart new york, but i love jen and her family even more! Terrific tour guide (and you don't have to tip! lol).

PS.... I MET STEPHEN LYNCH!!!!!!!!!
