If it's of any help, I think Jared was more in love with Jensen's potential, than Jensen. Jensen hadn't ever been given the freedom to even think of himself as a person yet. Yeah... so there's that.

And yes, Jared is really the loser here. He's opened his heart, invested himself totally in this project, this potential person he sees in Jensen, and then to be the reason for Jensen's demise.... Shivers. As you observed in your beta, I think it will change Jared on a fundamental level. He can't go back to being a carefree rent-boy. In a way Jensen got off easiest. He never hoped for, or expected anything better. : (

Jesus, right in the feels!!!! Wow, nice - if diabolical - twist, beautifully done. The whole story was so suspenseful, but you think maybe they're gonna pull it off somehow. . . . wow. Good job, you rascal!!

Yes Jared was so close. So close to slipping through his loophole, so close to getting his man. I didn't know where I was going when I started this story, but when I had them compare tattoos I suddenly knew what the ending needed to be. It's doubly sad because not only did we lose Jensen, I think Jared will be changed forever.

There was something telling me when I read that they were teh perfect match that it would all go to shit and I was right, I just didn't expect to be Jensen dying to save Jared.
It just about killed me, never mind Jared when he found out and when he does he will be changed forever.

Yes as my friend syls told me, this reads like a Twilight Zone episode, classic dystopian horror. I just couldn't see how in this evil AU, things could possibly turn out perfectly for the boys, there had to be a hitch. At least Jensen never had any expectations of a life outside the vault, Jared on the other hand knew everything Jensen was missing and how much potential a life together for them had.

I can't possibly imagine Jensen's terror as they wheeled him to the operating room. And yes, Jared will probably be thinking about those moments for the rest of his life.
