I LOVE my job...

Unfortunately the flowers weren't from a secret admirer
Actually - they weren't from an admirer at all :-/. But they are still mighty pretty...

Apparently it's custom where I work - to give new employees flowers when they start in the company. Ok - so it took my boss 1½ month to actually do so with, but still :-) Good thing was that I didn't know about this policy so it wasn't like I was wondered where in the world my flowers were - to me it was just a big surprise during Friday morning breakfast (every Friday we eat breakfast together in each department).

And as if the flowers weren't enough to kick-start a happy weekend for me - my boss also gave two bottles of very nice wine. Yesterday the Danish Medicines Agency came to visit us (the visit each pharmaceutical company in Denmark about once every 2 years) - and there were a bunch of papers that had to be organised for that - and my boss had asked me to do it. So I did - it was all kinda last minute and not very organised before I sorted it out. It wasn't a big deal to do - but I think they either thought it was A LOT of hard work - or maybe they are just easy to please (I think it could be the latter, I think I get plenty of praise everyday, which I guess is nice. I like to know that they appreciate what I do for them - but still, most of my tasks are fairly simple, heh!).

I just realised how many things I've got from the company in the 1½ months I've been there - and took pictures:

So yesterday we had the flowers - and flowers like this are around $25 in Denmark I think:

And also we had the wine - two bottles of awesome Australien red wine - which are almost $20 pr bottle, which is a lot more that what I usually buy wine for. I'd pay that for a bottle in a restaurant - and more even - but I never buy that expensive wine for myself in shops :-)
Two really good friends will be in Copenhagen around my birthday, we have a history of wine *heh* so I think I'll save it for then, hehe! mmm mmm

See - you'd think that was enough, no?

After working there for 1-2 weeks I found this Beatles CD in my office - I told one of my colleagues since I thought it might have belonged to the girl they had working there before me; but was told that the company had bought a bunch of these CDs since one of our products has a similar logo to the "1! - or something - so she told me I could just keep it :-)

Then - yes I'm going on... 3-4 weeks ago when trying to tidy up I found this in my office:

And asked a colleague where I should put it/who it belonged to - to which she said "hmmmm, I guess you can keep it. We all got one as a present at the annual summerparty*** last year. So now I have a game of Petanque - if anyone wants to play??? Heh...

Last but not least - then 2-3 weeks ago one of my colleagues came into my office and told me that back in January because the sale of one of the drugs in our department had done so well then they had all been given this bag - and now they had just one left and they thought I should have that. So now, I have a bag too:

And it's HUGE inside - I think it's bigger than my backpack - but it looks a bit more profesional to arrive at a 5-star hotel with that and not the backpack :-)

So again: WoOt!!!! I love my job... I'm so nervous when my 3 months are up though. Not for whether they wanna keep me or not - but for when I'm going to have the talk with my boss about my pay: eek!

But really, they are so nice. Already I've booked meetings at hotels and restaurants on my own (having to call around to find out if they had what we needed/wanted), booked planetickets etc. And Thursday I think it was - one of my colleagues (I think I should do what koinsky does and start naming them A, J, T etc and not just say *my colleague* heh) came and said to me in a friendly but rather serious tone "Mette, promise me that you will let me know if the work gets too much. If you feel that people are on your back about getting their stuff done and if you can't keep up. I don't want you to get stressed out or anything"
Awwww bless!!!

***Summerparty.
Did I mention that we've been invited to the annual summerparty which will be on the 2nd of September at a castle Heh!!! I feel soooo spoiled.

Also - apparently (a little early) the American Embassy in Copenhagen is celebrating Independence Day on the 29th of June at the Embassy. My company is one of the sponsors of the even which will focus on Danish and US relations and sport - so present at the party there will be professional athletes from American Football, Basketball, Tennis, Golf and Baseball I think - the actual names will be announced later in June. Our company has 20 invitations to this so-called party and they will draw lots between those who wishes to go. I haven't put my name in the "hat" yet and I don't know if I'm going to... But the opportunity is amazing... *pinches arm*
