Today's the day...
I signed the contract today!

This felt soooooo awesome - I almost had to pinch myself.
It was all there though.
I was a little nervous - in case it had all been too good to be true with the pay and all. But no, the contract says it. 20,000DKK pr month (+12,5% pension after 3 months) - 240,000DKK pr year ($40,000 - £22,300 - €32,200). AND AND AND - he said it again - that he had made a deal with the HR-manager that we could talk about the wage when my 3month trial period is up.
This is soooo cool.
At this law-firm where I did some temp'ing in the fall - the girls they have doing "my line of work" get about 5,000DKK less pr month. I'm getting 20K DKK for photocopying, packing folders, typing in evaluation forms, registrating participants for meetings, sending out letters.
-but it's more than that. The people I work with are sooo nice & I've always been comfortable in a service-minded job - and basically I get to help my co-workers all day. Maybe it's because it's so new - but so far they are NOT taking me for granted, it's the opposite - they are so grateful.
Oooh - did I mention that I have my own office? heh :D
The coolest thing is that it's in the marketing department - that the people I support the most are the ones organising congresses, meetings, symposiums, conferences all the time - which is the perfect way for me to find out if this is what I wanna do. I can learn so much from them & can only hope that I'll be getting more and more responsibility as I go along.
I'm already nervous about the wage-negotiating in 3 months. I really like my boss & I'm afraid I might be the typical female and not be able to demand what I want when that time comes... But I guess we'll wait and see ;-)
It was SUCH a relief to sign that contract - and for the first time EVER, I'm getting a "monthly wage" - not "by the hour".
Now if only I weren't so damn tired zzzzzzzzz. I thought biking to work would be easier by now, guess it takes longer to get into shape than 8 days :p -I need to learn to go to bed. Which I will do just now... zzzzzzzzzz
