Well Saturday anyway...
The weather was GORGEOUS!
Friday the weather was HORRIBLE, I wanted to go to the
Outlandish concert in
Tivoli, but after a days work and biking home in windy, rainy and cold weather I just didn't feel like putting dry clothes on and biking into town only to stand outside in the rain for a concert - especially with a full program for Saturday coming up and a messy apartment that I needed to take care of, heh...
On Saturday evening we had our Easter-lunch-party within IAAS (yes, I know Easter was last week, but then is an annual event, an excuse to get together and agree on how horrible snaps is and still drink it and eat loads... news members + alumnis show up, so it's all good fun). Christian - a friend from IAAS-Norway is currently studying in Denmark - so he came to Copenhagen to join the party.
The sun was out - the sky was blue - so 4 of us met around 2pm in down town Copenhagen to go for a tour around the Canals of Copenhagen. [Which is my favourite tourist thing to do in Copenhagen, it costs less than a cup of coffee in a café and lasts an hour... I just loooove being on the water]...
Before making it down to
Nyhavn we just sat on top of the stairs by the Metro station on Kgs. Nytorv and opened our drinks (they drank beer, I still haven't learned that :p so I mixed some vodka & juice ;-) heh) and enjoyed the heat from the spring sun and the blue sky mmmm mmmm mmmm!
After 30 mins or so we made it to the actual "harbour" -and a boat was actually just there waiting to depart so we didn't have to wait. It was an hour of pure bliss. Water, wind, sunshine, friends, sailing etc...
Us - just before departing :-)
Nyhavn...
The new Opera House in Denmark. Donated by A.P.Møller - it's supposedly prettier on the inside than outside;-)
Amalienborg Slot - the Castle where the Queen lives
2.30am and ready to start up my bike and go home ;-)
After the trip we went to the party where we overindulged in food and drinks and dancing and good company. I called it a night around 2.30am - a 12½ hr party was enough for me. Dragged Christian to the busstop and gave him information on where to get out and then I biked home - stopping at the bakery on the way for bread, juice and pastry for breakfast :-). I think we made it home around 3.10am - looked at some pictures from an IAAS meeting in Denmark in 2002 and then parked him on my couch and went to bed zzzzzzzzzzz mmmm sleep.
Got up this morning and had a nice long breakfast - read a newspaper -Christian left for the train around 2pm and I then did nothing sensible for the rest of the day - checked email - watched a couple of episodes of Prison Break...
Now it's bedtime again...
You really learn to appreciate your weekend when you have to work during the week :p ...I'm sooooo tired every day, I have NO energy. Hopefully I'll get used to this up in the morning - go to bed at night - thing soon enough and slowly have more energy. One of my friends told me last night, that it takes about 3 months getting used to get up every morning and going to work: DDDDDAAAAAAMMMMNNNNNN! It better not :p
Goodnight...
*hugs*
