I've been upset lately at how I go to the gym 4-6x's a week and haven't been able to lose any more weight and get over my plateau. I actually gained 10 pounds since I moved in to my new apartment...even though I knew it was "mostly" muscle because I was smaller inch-wise, it drove me insane. Obviously, I was underestimating my calories. I was continually disheartened by little discoveries like the Chipotle burrito that I hold near and dear to my heart... It is not around 800 calories as I had supposed, it is 1314 calories...holy frijoles!
Summer has been frustrated with her weight lately too and Friday night we finally decided to do something about it. We went to our first Weight Watchers meeting Saturday morning. We registered and got our point calculators and some booklets that tell us how many points are in foods that aren't prepackaged, as well as how many points are in foods from our favorite restaurants. Well worth $11.
In the same day, we joined the gym that's 4 blocks from our house. For $55 a month we have the atypical amenities like an Olympic sized pool, two saunas, a three story rock climbing wall, as well as all the typical amenities that came with my last gym was but SANS the pool, sauna for WOMEN, and rock-climbing wall for $69 a month. Not to mention the added bonus of not having to travel north everyday THROUGH Wrigleyville during a fucking cubs game.
NEway I said all that to say this. I LIKE Weightwatchers. I like it when people cheer you on. I LIKE that since Saturday I have lost SEVEN POUNDS!!!!!!! We drank almost a whole bottle of wine each on Saturday with Marcy and Summer and I are STILL losing weight because of the (surprisingly easy) plan. It totally rocks!! I may reach my weight goal by the time school starts in the fall.
Tomorrow for the 4th of July, I've saved my points so I can eat drink and be merry!
