Polska Pride: Dziękuję Pope John Paul II

Apr 05, 2005 00:37

With the recent death of the religious and pop culture icon, it help me reflect upon which the many amazing people the culture of my ancestry has brought out in Poland; The Pope, Lech Walesa, Nicholas Capronicus, just to name a few. They had a brillant Dynasty back in the Middle Ages. The link to my polish roots, my grandmother, whom i love ever so dearly, is why i feel so in tune with my roots to Poland.

Lech Walesa led the Solidarity movement to Crush the Communist Reign over the country, and was the first non-communist president since pre-World War II.

The Pope was such an amazing man. He was a man if intellect and culture;speaking 8 different languages, and being an actor, a thespian before becoming a priest. Did hard labor during World War II, and was apart of an underground movement to help keep polish culture alive. He will truly be missed, he is one whom i look up to greatly.
