And really, I couldn't be less surprised. I suppose that sounds insensitive, but I've grown dulled to bad news since there's been so much of it. It really died for me a month ago and now I can't muster up any anger at this. Because there's none. It's been a long, drawn out death in the making and now it's here. That's really all there is to it.
To be honest, I wouldn't hold this over their heads. They gave a poorly rated show two chances at survival and it didn't hold up to snuff either time. What would have happened if they renewed it again? Inevitable cancellation after thirteen episodes. That's not nearly enough time for me to finish off all the lingering stories and character development.
One could argue that THIS certainly isn't the right way to do it either, but at least with that last episode we have some degree of finality (mileage may vary, obviously,) leaving our imaginations to do the rest.
Well, anyway. It's been a fun ride. I have this show to thank for getting me back into the business of writing stories, making friends with unspeakably kind and wonderful people, and have the privilege of watching robots kick the crap out of each other. And I knew it'd end nastily, and so it has. Not much more to it than that.
