Can't you just feel the moon shine?

I'm all moved in. Actually, I was all moved in two days ago, but I didn't have internet in my room, and was thus unable to tell you kids about it until right now.

I told the family that we would be leaving Greensboro on Saturday morning at eleven o'clock sharp. Naturally, it was eleven-fifteen before I pulled out of the driveway. But there wasn't much traffic, and we got here earlier than I'd predicted nonetheless.

I finally got to see my new place, and it's pretty much awesome. As is my new roommate. My only complaint is that his name is Rick, and I'm positive that if the two of us ever have people over to our apartment, someone will start calling it something lame like "Movie Night with Rick and Nick." I just don't like associating with people whose names rhyme with mine. But if that's the worst thing I can say about my roommate, then I'm doing a lot better than I did last year.

After the parents left, I went to the Schoolkids and the Yogurt Pump with Dianna. I got a mint/chocolate swirl and Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane over the Sea. On the way, we stopped at the library and I dropped off my application. I talked with the hiring guy today, and he said that he'd probably have a position for me if I came back in a week. I'm excited.

Before I got here, I promised Meagan that as soon as we met up in Chapel Hill, we'd be inseparable. I had no idea how true that statement would prove to be. We met up at 8:00 Saturday evening, and save the occasional bathroom trip, were not more than ten feet apart until one o'clock this morning. We are officially "one of those couples." And I don't mind it one bit.

Last night, I went to see Snakes on a Plane with Susannah, Amanda, and Meagan. It might have been the best time I've ever had at a movie theatre. If you have not seen this movie, go see it right now.

After that, I went to Fallfest, which was pretty much the best thing of my life. I now am on the mailing lists for about ten different student organizations, and am still digesting all of the free food that was handed out. It was great. I talked to someone with the Daily Tar Heel, and I'm definitely going to apply for a position on their copy desk. Jenny suggested that I write for their Arts page, but I feel like I'd be much better as a copy editor. (As my first act, I might point out the glaring error on their staff application. As they're describing their journalistic integrity standards, they declare that "[t]he DTH also proscribes to the Society of Professional Journalists' ethical standards." I can only hope that they meant "prescribes," and that they weren't trying to denounce the Society of Professional Journalists.)

Have I mentioned that I love this school? Because I do. A lot.
