So--I was accused of being a racist recently. I was unaware that I was. Then I read this blog, written by the boyfriend of the person who called me a racist. Keep in mind it was my "racism" that was "coming between our friendship." So...my racism is coming between our friendship, but your boyfriend's racism/sexism is aokay? Sounds like aces. Begin C&P Here. My own comments will be intserted as they strike me.
I'm sorry, i have to rant on this subject. Political Correctness.
International Womens Day and Womens History Month (yes, it does exist i just got an intra office memo attesting to this fact)
---You should know this anyway. You shouldn't be flabbergasted by its existence, nor should anyone else.
Fact: Women are important.
Fact: Women are an inclusive part of history.
Fact: Women can do the same things men can do, with few exceptions.
--Women are an inclusive part of history? What you mean is included part of history, and that's the way it ought to be.
In light of these facts i have put forth, what is the point of having a special day pointing out the achievements of women? Shouldn't such achievements be inherently recognized within the context of history? Shouldn't people realize that without women their would be no man, thus inherently making women important everyday?
--Yes, they should, however they don't, and men like you are sort of the reason why they don't.
Is there an International Mens Day? Why not? (Any answer you insert here is automatically a sexist remark/comment and subsequently hypocritical, because you would be admitting an inequality where there should not be one, thus proving my point that this is total bullshit)
--Total bullshit? Hardly. You're saying that pointing out an inequality where there shouldn't be one is sexist/racist? How does that make sense? If I admit that men make more than women for the same work, and things like this, I'm a sexist? I'm a racist if I point out how black people or Hispanic people have been made the subject of racism in this country for centuries? It doesn't prove anything, except that you have a very, very warped idea of what racism is. Poor white man, your world is so threatened by LIBRULMEDIABIAS and LIBRULAMURRCA. Every day is men's day, and every month is Men's Month. Far be it from you to look up from your trough to throw a bone to someone other than those people in your lilly white genepool.
Inherently, these "history months" set aside are either racists or sexist because they ADMIT an inequality when there shouldn't be one. History is all inclusive. Keep it in context. Everybody in history is important.
--Black History Month is a racist? First of all, a month cannot be a racist. If you mean the observation of Black History Month is racist, then, again, you have a really strange idea of what racism is. This white conservative notion of "reverse racism" is pithy and does nothing but out you as racist yourself.
Finally, If my bigotry is coming between our friendship, 'R', then the bigotry of your boyfriend (who consequently voted for the DOMA in the '04 election) ought to be enough to end that relationship, as well. I'm not asking that you apologize, not in the least. Just looking for a little consistency.
And for 'N',
WE LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK!
