I'm Home

Realizing that I didn't write anything in this journal last night helps me remember that last night I spent most of the time sleeping on the chair, waking up every now and then telling Jessica how good the television show we were watching or commenting on something she said.  She reminded me that I was watching Cheers, I never watch Cheers, I must have been asleep.

Woke up Friday morning at 4:45am, not feeling very good.  My stomach felt just like it does before I start throwing up from the stomach flu, went to the bathroom with all intentions of throwing up, never did.  Came back into the living room around 5:15 and laid down on the couch, my mother and father were both doing their things (my father was getting ready to go to work, mother getting ready for the doctors), she offered me some Ginger Ale soda, didn't accept it initially but then I thought, why not, have nothing to lose.  At about 6 I pretty much finished it off, took a nice hot shower to see if it would help to calm my stomach, got dressed, and finished packing my carry-on luggage, get my cell charger in my bag, etc., still felt horrible.  Left my parents at about 6:45, felt horrible, told my mother, "mom, if you get a call from me in about 30 minutes, pick me up at the airport."  Being the great mother she is, "no problem, I'll be there."

Got to the airport, dropped off the car rental then took the bus to the terminal, walked right up to security screening, pulled my laptop out of the bag, put it in the bin, my cell too, walked through the metal detector, beeped.  Walked through again, beeped.  My stomach hurts I thought to myself, I don't need this.  They made me sit down, wanded my legs, stood me up, wanded me, patted me down, pretty much everything, they couldn't find a thing.  Let me continue.  Repacked everything, got my shoes back on, still felt horrible.  Walked to my gate, not very far.

Sat down at my gate, watched the airplanes take off and land, it was interesting, started dozing off.  They called the groups to board, gave them my boarding pass, don't know why they made everyone go as the walkway was filled.  Finally got on, sat next to an elderly couple, I still felt horrible and it was getting worse.  Plane filled up, they closed the door, taxied, and took off.

About 20,000 feet up, I needed to use the bathroom, nicely asked the elderly couple to excuse me, walked to the back of the aircraft, went into the bathroom, stayed in their for 20 minutes, no reason, just needed to relax in the bathroom.  Exited the bathroom, stood in the back of the aircraft for another 30 minutes, talked to the stewardesses, I asked for a 7-Up, took it to my seat, got comfortable, looked out the window for a few minutes, next thing you know we were twenty minutes from landing, my stomach must have relaxed while I was sleeping, I felt a million times better.

Landed.

Deplaned.

Took my bus to my bus station by my office.

Walked to my office, all of half-mile.

Went in, boss told me to just go home, nothing is going on, he was going home too.

Called Jessica to pick me up, she came an hour later.

Went out for some dinner, soup and salad.

Came home, Mocha jumped through the fence and visited a neighbors dog.  Got Mocha back, fixed the fence, watched some television.

Saturday, woke up late, went to lunch at Red Robin, best service I've ever had there, left a damn good tip and even told the manager how good the service was, he was shocked that I took the time to actually provide positive feedback.  Went to the mall, rather leisure day, picked up a few things.  Had some damn good crepe's from a cart-vendor called Crepe's a la Cart, which is not only catchy, but this guy could make crepe's as good as my grandmother.  Yum, more in the future.

Tyler has a cough, I'm a little worried, it isn't croup, maybe a cold, hopefully it won't get worse.

Kids were happy to see me though.

Nice to be home, sleeping in my own bed.
