A very belated milestone

Aug 07, 2007 16:21

After a less than perfect parallel parking job and a <1/16 mile "road" test around the DMV office in Bortondale, PA...I am a licensed driver.

I'm thrilled and relieved, but still rather alarmed. That should have been a lot harder.

when I got my license, all I had to do was drive around a parking lot, and you were permitted to completely screw up parallel parking and still pass. the best part? I failed the test the first time.

"That should have been a lot harder."

my feelings precisely - i got my license in june and i was like 'are you *sure* that's all i have to do? aren't i supposed to prove i'm a safe driver?'

maybe that's why northerners have a reputation for being lousy drivers - our driving tests are too easy.

also, i have a quirky idea. more later.

I had to do some tricky stuff to get my license, but I failed miserably at most of it and still passed. It didn't make any sense to me, either.

Curse you! I went yesterday (well, to the DMV in Norristown) but got there too late, and now I have to wait another month.

I'm really relieved to hear you passed without a perfect parallel parking job, though-- I can do it, but it takes me a while.
