Merlin 3.03 Insta-reaction
Silly and kind of almost a let-down after the intensity of the opener, but very fun. And honestly, the amazing beauty of the Camelot library will make me forgive almost anything right now. BOOOOOKS. So gorgeous and with secret rooms! akejaireejhaoitji it was wonderful.
Also, bald Anthony Head was kind of adorable.
More shirtless Arthur. I approve.
Yeah, really stupid-silly, but Richard's acting as the goblin is great, and getting to see him and Colin doing their semi-comedic, semi-serious thing together is quite nice. Gaius-goblin's faces are like, even better than regular Gaius', and who'd have thought that possible?
Also, I think I do like the use of the goblin to develop Morgana a bit more. "You were always such a good friend to me." REMEMBER THAT, Morgana. Please. Hold on to those memories, don't let everything slip away just because you hate Uther.
And I like that even though they first describe the goblin as 'mischievous,' they kind of take him seriously. He's doing real harm, emotional and physical, even if it's sort of funny along the way, and I like that he's not just a silly little elf-thing but a real power. Also yay more Gwen! ish. She reads people really well. Obvs Gaius is clearly acting out of sorts, but she's very perceptive and that of course is awesome.
Lol more bald-Uther. He looks so funny! "Is it really necessary to slap my head like that?" hehehehehe
"I know Gaius as well as I know myself, and you're not him!" OH show, oh relationships, oh Merlin!

Really? I find it odd that Arthur, and even Uther, would so easily believe that Merlin would have it out for Camelot, at this point. I mean, I know it's Gaius, but still. Uther I can see, but Arthur?

GWEN. PICKING UP THE POKER TO DEFEND HERSELF. Or whatever that heavy metal thing is. Awww, I like that she gets to be in on the action again! Trust her more, Merlin! She'll be queen! THE MAN SHE HAS FEELINGS FOR. FEEEEEEEEELINGS. GWEN. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. I HAVEN'T GOT ANY WARTS. Good job, show. Now give her more constant substantial parts.

So overall, very very good, with some points off for fart-jokes and lack of angst, lol. And the fact that to give Gwen more screentime they cut Morgana's. Hmmm.
