well Tuesday the 8th was CRUEFEST.....don't really remember much else that week lol...Yankee game the following day

and this past Sunday/Monday was the All Start festivities in the Bx....

so Tuesday the 8th I went to work, then after work Andrew and hopped into my car and headed down to Jones Beach for CrueFest.  We left around 3, and got down there around 4ish.  So we hung out for a while before going inside.  There was alot to do once we entered the area....

there was rock band set up, a stage to perform in the contest, as well as a tent so you could just play and have fun.  Alot of free promotoins and things as well as a shit load of concession stands and souvenirs.  We got our shirts, took in the promotions and shit, then headed inside, to find out we missed some of the TRAPT performance.  It was ok, though, for I got to hear "Still Frame" and "Headstrong" two of my fav songs by them.  Then Sixx AM came up, and they were solid!!!  Their singer was tight that night, as well as Sixx and Dj, so great so by Trapt and Sixx Am deff came through at Cruefest.  PAPA ROACH WAS INSANE!!! omg!! they played alot of thier classic songs/hits, as well as played a few new songs off thier upcoming album!!  During "to be loved" Jacoby Shaddix went INTO the small crowd gathering in front of hte stage!! he walked around, sang, sat down, just hung out for a few lines, then walked his way around back onto the stage....man they were tight as well, they were the SECOND BEST ACT of the show...at the very end Jacoby ran to the side of the stage and dove right into the water that was Jones Beach...everyone went bazerk!!! they had alot of stage presence and stole the show for the time being.   Course their last song was "last resort" betwen ang/insects, broken home, forever, getting away with murder, etc etc etc!! man they had a great set....so we decided to "Screw Buckcherry" and hung outside among the activities during Buckcherry's performance.  got some more food/drinks, hung out, then went to play some rockband again...this time these two kids needed two more pple to form the "band" and compete in the contest; best score and stage show would win a chance to play BEFORE Motley Crue came out!!! which meant with Buckcherry on that we were the last band to compete, winner would be up there in meer moments!! so we had to choose from a list of songs i barely heard of...ended up being bass, so i felt kew lol.  we hit it good, considering I only got to practice about 1/4 of the song!!! afterwards we were allowed to do another song, so i took the mic, and we did "Saints of Los Angeles" since it was the new song/album by Crue and it was THIER tour...that was sooo much fun....so we made it back for Crue, and they were worth the 70 bucks alone!!!! they had pyrotechnics, lights sounds fires fireworks etc.  they played so many of thier classic hits, songs and even the new stuff.  course during SOLA the other four bands' singers came out to join in on the final chorus..then for hte encore they did "home sweet home"  Nikki was funny, Vince was insane, Tommy Lee was fucken the man, he got a camera and had girls flashing thier tits for us...it was sweeet.  over all my voice was shot for like hte next 4 days lol.  they were insnae, they were the show, throw in Papa Roach's performance, it was worth it for just those two.  Trapt opened up great and Sixx AM did a great job, buckcherry i could care less about..and Ill explain why some other time, now that Slash's history has helped fill in the whole story of this band.

we get outta there around 11....giron was there as was Kristina Maselli and her bf Rob...got ot see those two, giron idk what hapened to him lol.  I got home around midnight-ish.  then went to sleep cuz I was fucken spent man..woke up early to run, then went to work, then to the show, with little time to relax....surprised the exhuastion kicked in once I got home!!!

So then I woke up at 930 Wednesday Morning...the train was at 952....Rich's call woke me up, somehow I slept through like 4 diff alarms..and had to get ready!!! so I was able to shower, dress, take care of the dogs, and meet rich so we could catch our train.  And that we did, thank god.  We wanted to go down early to walk around and enjoy everything, it was a day game, against the Rays.  I missed the entire game the night before being on long island, so I read the hi lights afterwards.  We got down to harlem, and got some drinks from a pharmacy before we took the 4 train to the stadium.  We arrived and got some pics of the new yankee stadium.  then walked around to see the shops, then went inside to watch some BP.  Monument Park was mad full, so we were watching the Yanks hit some balls.  Got some more picks, got our promotional item, mustaches to support Giambis quest to be voted onto the final spot on the AL All Star roster...he would lose out to Longoria, from the Rays...Bastard.  So then we get some food and head up to our seats.  The game was a great pitching duel.  1-0 Yanks into the 6th or so, Ponson gives up a homer, tie game 1-1 until the bottom of the 10th inning.  Jeter gets on first and Abreu hits a game winning double...Jeter flies around the bases to win it...Yanks Swept teh Rays both games...great feeling totally.  had some trouble finding our ride home haha, but otherwise a great two days...

so nothing much up unil Monday Night...Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium....

Boys and Girls, WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Josh Hamilton, who has been through so much, being drafted by the DRays back in the day, lost his job due to alcohol and drugs, was out of baseball entirely for three long years, never played above A ball in the minor leagues, started his comeback last year in cincy, now a texas ranger.  he dreamt of being in the derby at yankee stadium, lowe and behold, he was there tonight.  Dude hit 28 Homers in the first round alone!!!! he hit the black bleachers like 4-5 times, hit the Bank of America sign on the fly!! and thats never done, not even in BP!!! It was Ruth, Jackson, Mantle-esq like hits, homers in THAT ballpark that are part of history pple!!!

hit a few more in the second round, and fell two short of winning the title...mourneu from the Twins won it...but the best part was...being in Yankee Stadium, mostly Yankee Fans that night, gave him a role call!!! and a standing ovation, cheering for a non yankee like he was batting in the 9th inning!! I think Tino had less of a cheer back in '98 than this kid got tonight!! my god...it was just amazing, I wanted him to win the dam thing, its a great story, through the shit hes been through, the demons he over came, hes got great talent, and its true, like the announcers said, in a few years he could be signing a deal with another team....that could be teh YANKEES.  We could use a kid like that, and hes young, i mean hes just amazing.  The Fans were totlaly behind him...THE BEST PART was when Ortiz was seen walking by Hamilton during his first round at bats, the Crowd BOOED Ortiz loudly, a bronx cheer at its best, that fat fuck can't DH cuz of his wrist injury...Please!! Josh had to fight heroin, alcohol, just to name a fwe things to come back to baseball, and hes never played at the AAA level with the exeception of say a rehab assignment for an injury if I can recall....Ortiz got what he deserved, part of that cheating team up in Boston, Terry Francona the manager? please he took HALF his team to the All Star game, with only like three Yankee players, and the manager Giradi to represent OUR Cathedral...meanwhile Torre back in 99 took alot of Red Sox, including a FOURTH SHORTSTOP in Nomar b/c it was "Boston, and hes one of thier own" bullshit! Fuck Boston, and fuck Francona, fuck that idiot Manny and fuck that fat ass steroid popping david Ortiz.  Yanks are only 6 games back, the Rays are slipping, and Boston, its 30 years since the First Boston Massacre, this time we're closer!! We get our injured back in due time, we'll see whos standing come September fuckers....

Luckily Rivera is set to close tomorrow nights all star game...only fitting that the greatest closer comes into his ballpark to pitch....

but yeah, anyway, great derby, great concert, great yankee game....this summer has been pretty well, so far.  Hopefully a few more concerts are due up...have to have my wisdom teeth taken out next week, so I'm out of action for a few days...practice starts end of August...and fuck my job, seroiusly, this friday may be my last day working there, shit may hit the fan...

on a side note...yeah idk what to think about that.
