I'm going to assume that it's permissible to make more than one comment. So I'll make two. I love your Stiles but it seems to me that, though you don't actually claim it for him, he's not from our universe. His scars, the traumas and the deaths he's experienced don't correspond to our Stiles. Neither does his mental state or magical abilities reflect that of our Stiles. This isn't a criticism, just an observation that didn't occur to me at first . You just carried me away with your storytelling.
My other comment is more along the line of a question. I think we're meant to assume that Stiles loved the Derek from his universe though nothing ever came of it there. I don't see that there's any other reason for the pain he suffers at lost Derek's memory. But on looking back at the story, the only positive thing I can recall him saying about his Derek is that he saved Stiles's life several times. Everything else he says about his Derek is an unrelenting list of his failings and criticisms of his conduct. Not even in his private musings does he ever say anything positive. Am I wrong to think he loved his Derek?
Well, I always assumed he was Stiles from a year in the future. Future!Stiles in our universe. (Although I am taking liberties with the magic thing--Jeff Davis has said he's not actually magical. BUT I HAVE NO PROOF THAT HE COULDN'T BE MAGICAL NEXT YEAR, SO.) XD
Stiles was very conflicted about Derek from his universe, I think. Mostly, he was attached to the idea that Derek would always need him no matter what, which is...MASSIVELY UNHEALTHY, but also, I think, very Stiles. But as far as real, positive feelings Stiles has for his original world Derek--Derek always tried to help when one of his people was in trouble. Stiles clearly rates that very highly as a trait--it's one of Scott's best traits, too, and arguably Sheriff Stilinski's. So that, and that fact that Derek needed Stiles, lead Stiles to believe that he could easily fall in love with his Derek--but I don't think he had yet. It was just that the potential was there.
