Well I made it .I finally got to see 30 seconds to mars and let me tell you it was amazing .It started out as a dream day and kept getting better .
I was on vacation with family when the show was originally set for -then when they had to change the date I tried to get tickets but they were sold out but I figured with the date change someone was bound to turn in some tickets -well I checked every day and was about to give up -till the last day -low and behold 2 tickets -it was fate -
So I made my brother in law go with me since my sister was working and away we went .There was already a line when we got there but it wasn't too bad -had to got to will call for the tickets and the nice man there said he had no tickets for me since I bought them on a sunday and the office was closed but he told me I could go in anyway since I had the printout from my computer with an authorization number -see it was fate again -and thanks to the nice guy beside us who was going to go to bat for us if we didn't get it -he was ready to fight for us -30 sec fans are so like a family -its more than words I am a believer now .
The first band Backbeat was ok -was a family run type classic rock tribute band .They were not my cup of tea but my brother in law Jay liked them -then there was Killing Hannah ,they were pretty good I had never heard of them before and they showed a lot of potential .They were out selling cd and taking pictures after 30 seconds set too -seemed like nice guys .
Then the moment I was waiting for -the boys hit the stage .They were everything I wanted them to be and more .They kept the mood lively complete with a mosh pit (my first)and stage driving fans .I stayed towards the back so I was not in the line of fire.Jared didn't play monkey boy (super small stage with nothing to climb on)and he didn't do the walking on the fans that got him dropped a few weeks/months ago but they did do a lot of older songs and when the others went back for a break -Jared and his guitar stayed and took request from the fans -that was so cool .I think I even managed to get my brother in law to admit that he had fun too -and he said "they were alright" -maybe he can be turned yet .
I bought a cd to get them to sign(only 10 bucks )and got to exchange a few words (very few)with Shannon & Jared but for some reason I froze up with Tomo (my new love I fear).He was out walking around the hall before the concert -which really surprised me -even stopped to take a few pictures with fans .I was really impressed by that .I didn't bring my camera with me -dumb me .
They were all so nice to the fans there and kept thanking us for our support .
All I can say is I hope I get the chance to see them again -maybe with Matt this time so I can get his symbol on a cd .
