Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Joyous feast day to you. I was blessed to attend a Serbian Orthodox church's Nativity Eve service last night as well. Very lovely.

As a matter of fact, we did. It wasn't decorated and it was brought in during the service. What is the significance?

I'm in the America near the Nation's capital.

I'm not sure what the significance is, but you can see some of the Christmas trees in a pile in the right of the picture -- they are oak branches with straw tied round them with a red, white and blue ribbon (the Serbian flag colours).

Ahh, Ours was a single cut oak branch (more like a little tree). It wasn't green of course, but the leaves were still hanging on. I'll have to ask my friend who took me, she may know what its for.

There was one of thse too, with flashing lights, in a pot in the church. But the smaller ones were given to everyone on Christmas Eve.
