I nicked this idea from
poliphilo, and it seemed rather fun. But like
poliphilo I'm not quite sure which ones count. I counted all the ones I've actually slept in, but not those I've just travelled through to get to other places. There are some iffy ones though. Stopping in Lincolnshire to look at churchyards in places where ancestors had lived. Stopped in Wrecsam to change money at the bank. Does looking at Stonehenge from a distance count as a visit to Wiltshire? Or visiting friends and having having lunch at a pub count as a visit to Hampshire?
I suppose if one thinks like a dog one could add the ones one has travelled through if one stopped to piss there -- Dumfies and Galloway, Berwick, and that middle bit of Wales, whatever it's called. But a garage on a motorway doesn't really feel like a visit.
I've visited the counties in yellow.
