winter christmas snow

it begins. Yesterday the snow was undescribably beautiful. Perfect weather for me, 28 degrees, sun bright 'way up there and no wind... doesn't happen often on this godforsaken prairie, so I really enjoyed the snow sifting down and sparkling in the sunlight, funny it was so bright and snow lasted most of the morning... perfect balance. Shoer was out to trim the last 3 horses. Spook was interesting yesterday. He put his chin on my shoulder and spent all the time Loren was trimming, breathing in my hair and my neck and nibbling me( horsey affection). I think it finally dawned on him that he knew me before... he knew the place alright, but the way he seemed to enjoy just breathing my scent, I suspect he was remembering his horsey childhood when I spent so much time grooming and playing with him.... very touching. He will probably be the hardest of all to say goodbye to, but still, if he goes to someone who understands him and will treat him right, well, thats what needs to happen.
Christmas baking starts today. I am making sugar cookie dough for the Aliz and maybe Bob to cut out cookies and ice them. Then I am making oatmeal cookies the way my grandma did, just for me. Then choc chip, molasses, and refrigerator cookies. and trying to find a raisin bars recipie(oh i hate trying to spell that word! I can never get it right! ) for Bob... Ahh, the house is going to smell sooooo good. Got some of my shopping done, may do a bit more today, since I have to do banking in town anyways,
