Darker than BLACK: Gemini of the Meteor
Shion Pavlichenko

Shion will be taken from episode 12, after his reunion with Suou, but before entering the gate and meeting with Izanami.

Personality:
A contractor since birth, Shion’s capacity to understand others, and to empathize with them, has always been severely limited. For at least two years prior to the series, and likely for the majority of his life, he has been completely isolated from the outside world, and therefore lacks virtually any understanding of social interactions. What Shion does know of the world around him, he has learned from his twin sister, Suou, as well as mediums such as books and the internet. Though, despite Suou’s efforts to educate him on the subjects of love and friendship, Shion dismisses the explanations in favor of his more logical viewpoint. It is Shion’s belief that the concept of “love” is used to mask the fact that people are really only attracted to each other because of their hormones.

Though contractors are, as a general rule, self-centered and uncaring, Shion is a bit of an exception. Unlike the others of his kind, Shion was never a normal human to begin with, and thus never underwent the severe change in behavior that people undergo when they transform into contractors. He has been cold and calculating since the day he learned to speak, which also means he has had his entire life to observe others from the standpoint of a contractor. Despite the fact that Shion is unable to fully understand the feelings of others, his curiosity and thirst for knowledge have made him very aware of the world around him, thanks, in no small part, to Suou.

Suou is without a doubt the reason that Shion is somewhat softer than other contractors. Whether it is because the two shared a womb, or because they spent virtually every waking moment of their childhood together, Shion has developed a genuine attachment to his twin, though he may not be consciously aware of it himself. Because of this attachment, Suou’s death at the age of five affected him more than he may have realized. While Shion may not have been devastated at the loss of a loved on as a regular person would be, he still felt a sense of loss at her absence; which is why, when a meteor fragment struck their campsite while he and his father were hunting, a miracle happened. Shion, who had sustained serious injuries from the impact, could only think of one thing as his consciousness faded: his deceased sister, Suou. In that moment, Shion’s contract activated, and by drawing power from the meteor fragment, he was able to copy a female version of himself, effectively reviving his twin.

There is one thing that is more important to Shion than his twin, however, and that is his contract. All contractors are bound to pay their remuneration after using their abilities and will do so before completing any other tasks, regardless of their importance. Shion is no exception to this rule. It should be noted that while Shion loses the use of his legs after he uses his ability, he is not technically physically handicapped-his legs are fully functional. However, because being confined to a wheelchair is the price he is forced to pay, Shion will not violate that contract, not even to save his own life. The thought would never even cross his mind.

Abilities: Shion’s contract gives him the ability to generate a perfect copy of any physical being or object, albeit with one minor difference. Examples include when he copied Suou’s PTRD-41 with the scope on the opposite side, or when he created a miniature version of the whale inside of his aquarium. His remuneration generally consists of the loss of use of his legs for a length of time proportional to the size and complexity of whatever it was that he copied. In extreme cases, such as when he copied the earth and most likely when he created the current version of Suou, Shion will become quite sickly for an extended period of time.

Shion has also been shown to have some degree of telepathy with his living creations, as shown in the first episode of Gemini of the Meteor when he gave Suou instructions to help her escape their home and avoid capture.

Permissions:

Kissing: This is fine, but keep in mind that he probably won't even be phased by it. The act of kissing means absolutely nothing to him, but it may spur a bit of TL;DR on the subject.

Hugging: Same as kissing.

Flirting: He won't even pick up on it, but by all means, go for it!

Fighting: Considering the fact that Shion will be confined to his wheelchair for a while, I'd prefer that he not engage in anything physical for right now. Keep in mind, at his canon point, he has just used his ability to copy the planet earth itself, so he's pretty run down right now. This will be subject to change once he pays his remuneration and starts walking again.

Killing him: This is something I'd like to plot out in advance, please contact me first.

Injuring him: Anything minor is all right. For major injuries, please contact me first.

Mind Reading: Shion's head is a very complicated little thing. If you want your character to venture in there, it's probably best to contact me first. Otherwise, it will get complicated and mistakes will be made.

Fourth-walling: I'd prefer none at all.
