Twelve months...
At the end of my first six months of playing RO, I put together a list of memorable moments. Now that another six months have passed, I've decided to put together a new list of memorable moments since then.
Also, for ease of reference, I've collected together all my previous RO LiveJournal posts under Ragnarok Online memories.
RO memories - Part 2
* Sirius fighting zombies in Payon 1. He ends up spending a hell of a long time down here - at first bashing, then healbombing, then crying from boredom.
* Lumialle and Asheroth's wedding! Held in Lutie, the Christmas town, where they had their first date. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes when a lovelorn Lemir dead branches the wedding party on the steps of the church, killing several people including Lumialle. Unlike in Kill Bill however, they are resurrected and the ceremony, conducted by Punchin Judy, is able to go ahead. A reception is held afterwards at the restaurant in Prontera.
* Finding Angeling while partying with Alby and Rary at argiopes. Unfortunately I am only carrying silver arrows, which Angeling is immune to. I am reduced to punching with my bare fists. This is not terribly effective.
* teylo invites me to go MVPing with him and Yurei and ArchDragon. Together we discover the pain of Mistress's Jupitel Thunder.
* Turtle Island! I am excited about my first visit to this new dungeon. Five minutes later, my party is dead. I want my 10K back... >_<
* Being accosted by crazy hunter guy Makoto in Prontera. He challenges Ash to PVP to test out a heap of new equipment, mourns with him about being ditched by priestesses, and flirts outrageously with Leena but fails to secure her services. Later, he returns demanding five million zeny back from Ash and accuses him of being a terrible pimp. This takes place in front of half the guild, including Lunakitty. We trash talk each other for a while. I tell him I have spent his five million on traps.
* I party up with Makoto and a priestess, Shalana Pink, for a prison run. Makoto decides he needs to go down to the corner store to get a bagel first. The priestess gets bored and leaves. Damn you, Makoto! Let's see your bagel heal you!
* Makoto insults my falcon. I return the favour. We go duel in PVP. He cheats and wins.
* Christmas comes to RO! It snows in all the towns. Santa porings make their appearance. People ruthlessly kill them for Santa hats.
* Leena's graduation to priestess.
* Collecting socks from Antonio, the fake Santa, to trade for gift boxes. I get a lipstick from one of them. Hmm, good present for Lumi...
* I meet the infamous Baphomet for the first time when he spawns on my party in GH Castle. It is a short and bloody encounter.
* Alby gets a pet smokie! He shows us how it hides and he hides. Very cute.
* The era of random Turtle Island parties, accompanied by much Turtle Island death.
* My first War of Emperium experience. Hectic.
* Chinese New Year, and Gravity introduces the yoyo taming quest, in honour of the Year of the Monkey. Alby and I go on a massive pet taming expedition. Failures: pecopeco, drops, poporing, steel chonchon, smokie, munak, and hunterfly. Successes: one yoyo.
* Sirius visits PVP as a cute lil aco who only uses emotes. There is an assassin and priest duo there, one of whom has the title "I'm not gay but my bf is".
* Ash gets dragged along on a round of MVPing. He gets to witness other parties taking down Maya and Phreeoni, and dies a lot to Drake.
* I finally make a bunny band with the four leaf clover Lillenthal left me. Ash doesn't look so silly in bunnies after all - in fact, it's kind of cute.
* Lenor gives me a handmade smokie hat! I <3 Lenor. (Otters do not <3 Lenor...)
* Lemir makes Ash try on all her weird hats and takes incriminating screenshots.
* Dragon Force's player has a car accident and ends up in hospital. We are all relieved when he wakes up from his coma. (When I next see him online, he tells me he is playing RO from his laptop in hospital because he is bored. ^^;)
* Since Lumialle can't play anymore due to connection problems, we bid farewell to him by holding a memorial service. This takes place at the monastery near Prontera. Sevenne conducts the service. We dress Lumialle up in all different headgear, take lots of screenies, and lay him to rest in the cemetery there.
* I have a go of making a new novice to be a merchant and future alchemist. This plan is abandoned when I learn of the unlikelihood of the homunculus skill tree being implemented.
* Spending time in GH Prisons with various priests. The miniboss Zealotus whips me every time I run into her.
* Sirius names the pecopeco Lumialle left him - Buckbeak, of course.
* The World is remade into Obstinate Arrow, an all-merchant guild. Sirius is invited to join Leena's guild, the Sisterhood of Cute. He becomes the second Fake Sister, after Xheif.
* Cyrus and Lenor's wedding at Comodo. It takes place on a boat moored just off the beach. Sevenne conducts the ceremony. Afterwards, someone comments that the newlywed couple's kid is now legit. ^^;
* We get our first fort! A proud moment in the annals of Shin Ravenloft.
* Exploring the Prontera guild dungeon. One Maya, three Maya Purples, and a horde of beefed up critters.
* At long last, Ash acquires a pair of skilful tights! (Armour for hunters, not pantyhose. ^^;)
* We defend our fort valiantly, but lose it to addicted.
* Introducing the RO Boys Band - featuring Neshtall, Asheroth, and Blacky - with their hit song 'First Aid!'
* Ash becomes tragically flawed when I misclick and accidentally put two points into Spring Trap. NOOOOOOOOO!
* Visiting Byalan 4 and 5 with Neshtall.
* Meeting Genestealer, the founder of the original Ravenloft guild.
* We get our fort back! Woohoo!
* Lumialle returns to RO! Unfortunately, his connection is still too unstable for him to do much, and he doesn't end up playing for long.
* WOE continues. Sometimes we hold our castle with no problem, and sometimes there are difficulties. But we hold on. Also, we get new guild emblems for WOE.
* Hanging with the new Shin Ravenloft members in town, and everyone getting out their porings to play with. We eventually end up with half a dozen of them bouncing around, to the amusement of onlookers.
* Ash's first MVP! Maya, in the Prontera guild dungeon, with the help of Lunakitty, Lenor, and Alby.
* Sirius trying to healbomb in GH Graveyard at level 40 = sucky.
* Sirius gets Holy Light! Yay, HLing smokies is fun.
* Sirius solos his first prisoner! Victory!
* More WOE drama as we lose and have to retake our castle, not once but twice in succession. Signs of tension are showing.
* Lenor plots to take over the world with her Raccoon Brigade.
* Sirius levelling in GH Graveyard with Leena and p-chan. p-chan lends me all her INT gear for the session. Wow, I suddenly feel smart.
* Despite our finest efforts, we lose our home to an act of God (ie Gravity), and Shin Ravenloft once again become wanderers upon the earth.
* Silver's graduation to priest.
* Ash goes soloing in Mids 4. While he is regenning in the corner, Osiris and his harem swoop in and whack him.
* Mysteel becomes Shin Ravenloft's first 99er.
* The Ravens return to the nest and reclaim their home.
* Sirius witnesses DarkDragon and Lenneth's PVP duel.
* Neshtall deletes his hunter to remake as crusader.
* Juno comes, and with it the 2-2 classes.
* We lose the fort again. And the wheel of fortune goes on turning...
* Lumialle returns! Lumi-kun, pre-sage, is born, with no memory of his past life.
* Sirius and Lumi-kun run into Angeling while levelling at argiopes. I come back as Ash, eager to finally get Angeling, but end up dying to the mob I inadvertently drag behind me.
* The Juno tour!
* The Meeting, convened by Lunakitty, to decide the future direction of Shin Ravenloft.
* Lumialle creates Lumi chan, a pre-bard. How many of you are there anyway? ^^;
* We launch our new campaign. But things rarely go according to plan. And so we fight on, despite bitter odds and hard enemies.
* Us Aussies regaling Shin Jace with tales of the food we cook Down Under - crocodiles, kangaroos, grubs, and other fare. We kind of put him off his dinner.
* Ash's birthday. Lumialle brings a cake. Well, a cake hat. Whether they are edible is open to debate.
* And the adventure still continues...
