Sometimes summer nights are really perfect.. yesterday was one of those days...
We got to Molson Amphitheatre early enough to find out that Liam Gallagher was in a good mood (abating some of my fears about a 4 song concert following a walk-off) when he gestured to us in a friendly manner (not by showing us a typical 1-fingered sign of recognition)... We also saw a goose murder another goose.. which was really weird and sad.
It rained all afternoon but by the time we took our places on the lawn it was super nice out... I love lawn seats... pretty much everyone sitting there loves the band more than a lot of the people in the seats that cost too much for us university students. The only people I could have done without were the kinder whores who sat down on the grass beside us. I have never seen a drunker 13(?) year old in my life... she literally could not function... whatever made her friends think that taking her for a walk around the lawn was a good thing is beyond me as the next thing we see is her, crying, getting escorted out by security ... it was sad... but everyone she had tripped over and fell on laughed a little...
Anyways on to the music... Jet opened... and Oasis played an amazing set:
Fuckin' In The Bushes
Turn Up The Sun
Lyla
Love Like A Bomb
Bring It On Down
Morning Glory
Cigarettes & Alcohol
The Importance Of Being Idle
Little By Little
A Bell Will Ring
Live Forever
The Meaning Of Soul
Mucky Fingers
Champagne Supernova
Rock 'N' Roll Star
Encores:
Songbird
Wonderwall
Don't Look Back In Anger
My Generation
People were singing, dancing, hugging, kissing, drinking, smoking ... during Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger you could hear thousands of voices singing the same words and it was so amazing. Live music is really one of the most awesome things around. I was really glad to hear those 3 as well as Songbird, Turn up the Sun, The Importance of Being Idle and Live Forever.
Next up WEEZER and THE PIXIES...
