ON THIS DAY IN 1787, THE MOST MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THIS NATION CAME TOGETHER TO
PRODUCE THE DOCUMENT SO MANY IN D.C. SWEAR TO UPHOLD BUT HOLD IN CONTEMPT
If you, like them, could care less it's because you, like them, have probably never read it ... nor the process that took place in Philadelphia that produced it ... nor the debates about ratifying it that ensued in the constitutional convention and among the states that later would approve the creation of this unique and ingenious government with the participation and consent of the American people.
There was none of that "We have to pass it to find out what's in it" nonsense - every word and phrase was scrutinized and debated over a period of months and eventually everyone in America had an opportunity to read it and debate it.
Quite a concept, huh? Actually knowing what you're voting on!
How appalled would these great men be today.
How lacking in reverence it is held in the halls of government.
How great the damage that has been done to it by temporary politicians who define those who embrace it as "extremists".
The Constitution was designed to prevent the kind of tyranny we are being subjected today.
The Constitution. Ignored in school. Ignored in the Press. Ignored in the halls of Congress and in the White House itself.
Someone has said it is "fundamentally flawed."
Leftists abhor it and are constantly pushing the limits of central-control in-your-face governmentbecause they are authortarian by nature and the framers of the Constitution designed it with exactly these kind of people in mind ... for they were rebelling against tyranny themselves and knew what government is capable of when operating to advance its own power and influence.
And so here we are. The Constitution is still here. As things get worse and worse, and they will, just remember that.
