my liberal friends actually fall for 'chain letters'

MY E-MAIL BOX HAS NO END OF SILLY SMEARS, ACCUSATIONS, AND MISINFORMATION FROM PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW ME AND I RARELY TAKE THE TIME TO KICK BACK AT THEIR INEPTNESS
They are usually uninformed, misinformed, or are deliberately engaged in attempts to misinform others.

I have friends both here and elsewhere that are constantly saying things that aren't true and/or citing sources and facts that are totally bogus.

Take my good friend M who has a penchant for plucking little snarky/sleazy graphics and talking points that seem to support his belief system.

Since I've posted before about what fascism actually is I was particularly amused to see him reproduce the contents of an e-mail chain letter that was circulating several years ago that was "supposed" to explain certain "fascist" elements of the right.

Now, we all know that fascism comes from the left, as do Marxism, communism, Nazi-ism, progressivism, and all centrally-controlled big-government "statisms".

I mean SERIOUSLY! Is there anyone so intolerant, so hell-bent on telling others what to do than a liberal busybody? Look around! They want to control virtually every aspect of your life. And yes I mean EVERY aspect.

Example: When a conservative becomes a vegetarian he or she stops eating meat. When liberals becomes vegetarians, they want YOU to stop eating meat!

If you want real research, read the works of legitimate historians/economists like Dr. Thomas Sowell ... the kind of person you'd NEVER see interviewed in the liberal media because he is brilliant, a true American, intellectually honest, and *gasp* black!

Instead, you get the likes of Colin Powell who I actually saw in a campaign ad telling Louisiana voters that Obama helped SAVE the oil industry and the COAL INDUSTRY to boot!

And who does my friend cite as an expert in the study of fascism?

A "supposed" professor of political science who researched fascism from the 1930s and beyond named "Dr." Laurence Britt.

But guess what? He got snookered AGAIN!

There is no "Laurence Britt" and I know because I checked him out 5-6years ago.

He is actually a former corporate executive who HATED Pres. George W Bush, abhorred conservatism, and once who published a fantasy novel about right-wing extremism called June 2004 during the Clinton administration.

I think he published that screed on "fascism" in one of those left-wing publications but I'd have to check it out. My memory is dim. But the fact is it has been circulating the internet ever since and taken as authentic by legions of NPR, PBD, Daily Kos, Moveon. org types known for not actually verifying their sources.

But you see, THIS is how "enlightned" and "informed" minds base their voting decisions, on what they knows as "truth" as they simultaneously dismiss eveything around them as noise from "right-wing extremists".

If this weren't all so sad and destructive it'd be funny ... but at this point, with America melting down before out very eyes, about all we have left is to laugh.

hoaxes, liberalism, fascism
