Umm yeah... I've been spending most of my time RPing and have only been writing a bit, and all that's been bigger stuff that's nowhere near finished yet.
I wrote this for this week's challenge over at
femslash100. It is completely different from what I was originally planning (a Katoph where Katara split with Aang), and I blame RP completely. Except for the part where this is really emo Sutara, that's just my hormones.
Title: Engagement

femslash100)

In the silence a pale hand splayed itself directly over Katara's heart, rising and falling rapidly with her breaths. Both sets of skin were wet with perspiration, and the fingers slid slightly before curling as if to try to hold onto what was inside. The waterbender took the hand under her own and pressed it firmly in place, biting her lip and looking up at her lover.
"I'm sorry, Katara. I... I have to say yes."
Katara bit her lip harder and shook her head. "No, don't apologize. I know you do, it's okay. Some day I'll have to say yes too."
"And it's going to hurt me. So I know how this must hurt you." The stony expression on her face was betrayed by watery eyes that made the darker girl's throat burn.
"Suki, don't be like that. You can cry, it's just me."
Her lip wavered, but the tears didn't fall. "We talked about this. We said we needed to stop once one of us got engaged. If he asks tomorrow, this is the last time."
Katara nodded, making no attempt not to cry, and gripped the hand on her chest tightly. "This is still yours, always yours. Please... Stay with me tonight."
"I will."
