Okay here it is finally, the rest of my weekend report.
Have you ever returned home after having gone away for a time unexpectedly? When you haven't had a chance to put things in order before you go? Well if you have, then you know the shock of it when you first open the door and wonder how you could have ever lived in such conditions. Okay, I admit I receive the same shock daily, but it seemed much worse after staying at Mum and Dad's for so long. I had hoped to go out riding for a bit of fresh air and sunshine, but since it was cold and rainy out, and R. was supposed to being coming in, I thought I should do a bit of cleaning.
I didn't do just a bit. I actually did the whole thing, scrubbed my floors and all. I didn't think the recovery from the jinx and my cold would still effect me like that but I was really, really tired when it was all done. R. actually didn't get in until very late. I think we talked only for a little while before I put my head back and closed my eyes, and boom! I was out. How utterly embarrassing. Luckily, he wasn't bothered much by it. He said he figured I needed the rest because he thought I was looking pale and besides, I wasn't maintaining my hair color. Oh, how lovely it is to have such a public barometer. Read that last with dripping sarcasm.
Anyway, I was feeling much better the next day. R. said that Mad-Eye had told him about my latest run-in with trouble and how he was really concerned about it. Apparently, he had read something about Muggles hiding bombs in their shoes and thought maybe some dark wizards were using a similar idea. That's why he had asked to see my footwear. "He was rather displeased to hear you had thrown your shoes out." Not as displeased as I was. I just bought those boots recently and didn't appreciate having to replace them so quickly. R. was like, "You bought another pair?" He asked to see them so I showed them to him, still new in the box. There's nothing much to them, just a pair of black boots. Very comfortable, I might add, and stylish. He asked me to do him a favor and not wear them until I had them checked out. I told him I thought Mad-Eye's paranoia was becoming contagious. Oh, and that reminded him, Mad-Eye wanted him to check out my shielding spell as well. (Note that it has been checked SEVERAL times now!) Now that would have really annoyed me had it come from anyone but R., but that fact is I really enjoy sparring with him. Yeah, I do! And I'm so glad I'm over my cold, too.
Oh! Look at the time! Sorry, I'll have to finish this later.
