Title: First Impression
Pairing: Implied Orochimaru -> Deidara
Words: ~170
Genre: humor, crackfic
Rating: G
Spoilers: Eh. None.
Other Notes: While I tend to think that Deidara joined Akatsuki after Orochimaru left, trying to write fic for
bakkhos made me wonder what they'd be like if they interacted more. Hence, this.
“Creepy bastard...” Deidara muttered. “...un.”
His fingers tightened around the clay, tucking under to form the fold of wings; each feather was delicately tongued into shape.
Orochimaru smiled and tipped his wide-brimmed straw hat toward the younger nin, the bells chiming softly.
“So you’re the newest,” he said. “The...artist. What a pleasure.”
There was a feral hunger in his eyes that made Deidara’s skin crawl.
Clay soaked up chakra like water, altering its plasticity; chakra tempered clay like kiln-fire.
Give you something to stare at...
Deidara grinned and stepped closer, his long pennant of blond hair bouncing jauntily. “That’s right,” he said. “The artist, un. You like art?”
Orochimaru arched a brow, looking interested. “I appreciate beauty.”
“Great! Check this out!”
The resultant explosion took out most of the mountainside.
Sasori relayed this incident to the rest of Akatsuki at their next meeting.
Orochimaru sulked.
Itachi just nodded.
Hidan clapped the new kid on the back.
Kisame laughed so hard he choked and cried.
Pein decided that the latest addition didn’t need to be hazed.
Deidara smirked.
My art wins.
