Blah..Linux is being a bitch.No matter how I set the user permissions it wont let me access my cd roms or other os which means I can't listen to muh fucking mp3s :(.And FreeBSD I think there is a glitch in the cd cause when i try to install xserver the mofo decides it's time to reboot my computer...!@#%#@ Anyway.I feel better now than earlier.

install X in freebsd /stand/sysinstall and choose install ftp .. =)

are you tring to mount your cdrom as root?
mount -t iso9660 /dev/XXX /mountpoint ?

/dev/hdc /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 2
