Mum,
Just wanted to let you know that I'm all right. I'm shaken from the attack; I've never seen children get slaughtered so ruthlessly, and I can't help but think that some of it was my fault....a professor at the school was under the Imperius Curse, and as an Auror I should have seen the signs and should have known.
I'm at my old flat in Hogsmeade now, but I want to come home to you and dad for awhile. I feel like a little kid again, and it would be really comforting to see you both.
Is Dad all right? I know he's probably worried sick after reading the recent Daily Prophet but just tell him I'm okay. You can even let him read this if you think it'll calm him down.
The Minister wants to see all of the Aurors....probably going to ask us to keep an extra look-out over the holidays. After the meeting tomorrow, I'm going to head home, so you can expect me around dinner.

P.S. Mum, you know the old cottage in Germany we have? Would it be all right if Remus and I stayed there at some point in July? Just let me know if it's all right with you and dad.
