The only thing is that wouldn't Tonks have known Sirius? Not saying that he was necessarily around a lot, I doubt he was, but given that Andromeda was his most trusted cousin (although Sirius did say "was") and they were both outsiders, I'd just think Tonks would've met him a few times.

It's really vague in canon. If Ron's right in HBP, when he says something about their families never having met, the Order would be Tonks' first interaction with Sirius. It seems like they don't know each other well, considering the very uninterested way Sirius mentions being related to Tonks. And Sirius' line about Andromeda being his favorite isn't really much of a compliment considering he's got Narcissa and Bellatrix to compare her to. ;)

Good point... I'm probably still too used to the pre-HBP fics where Sirius had cute nicknames for Tonks and all that jazz.

Aw, poor Tonks. I really like when fics play up all the aspects of her that are just as suspect to the wizarding world as Remus. And of course it goes without saying that Remus and Sirius bickering like teenagers is a hoot.

This is a nice start to the series, with them all defining the parameters of their relationships, and it was an interesting idea that Professor Sprout and Tonks don't get on. It was a great way to give Remus and Tonks somehting in common from the get-go.
