April cometh and so, we hope, do more drabbles and drawbles. Now there's a lot of inspiring possiblities on the horizen for our pair - like Easter, Teddy's birth, or anything at all set in April that takes your fancy. As well as a certain April Fool's Day. Which is why we're starting this off slightly early, in case you've a Weasley twin-like

A soft knock on the half-open study door made Andromeda start and look up.
Her son-in-law, hovering in the doorway, offered her a hesitant smile. "I was wondering if I might speak with you for a moment."
"Of course." Andromeda whisked a stack of musty dragonhide ledgers off the wing chair and stowed them underneath her writing desk. "Do come in and sit down."
Remus stepped gingerly around the piles of parchment on the floor. They were growing taller every day-Andromeda was combing through all the letters and documents she could find that pertained to the Black family, looking for any information that might possibly be of use to the Order.
She should have begun this three years ago, of course. But once upon a time, she had wanted to keep herself, and her family, safely away from Dumbledore and his penchant for stirring up trouble.
This year, trouble had found her. And her daughter's little family-to-be. ( ... )

I like Remus with a prickly pride. I like that it takes away his eloquence and that he sometimes has to let the mask fall and let people see what he really feels. He must be really frustrating to live with sometimes. And because his thoughts are so much on himself and his condition (and others' reaction to it and him) he doesn't understand at first why Andromeda is unable to pick up the mirror..
I'm sure there was more I wanted to say, but I'm not very eloquent myself - it's still too early for that, and I'm at work and people keep barging in here and expect me to actually, you know, work! O.o! Anyway, I really liked this piece. Thanks for posting.

I'm sure Remus is frustrating to live with sometimes, heh. But Andromeda is, too, and in my version of DH year, not all of the uncomfortableness between them is Remus's fault...

They’d been dismayed at first, when the rain had interrupted their picnic. It was so rare these days that they got to go out anywhere, be a couple, that those first few drops ruined the mood completely. But as they ran for shelter she had tripped, and he had caught her just before she splashed face-first into a puddle. Their eyes had held each other for the longest time, and then, as their lips met, they realised that it didn’t matter where they were, or what the weather was like, as long as they were together. Now they stand, lips meeting and parting and meeting again, in the rain, and they know exactly what they are about.
There’s nothing quite like falling in love.

Also, I like the way the last line echoes the first line.

It's been a little while since you've written a R/T fic. That's not to say that I've not enjoyed your other works, but it's nice to get back to reading about Remus and Tonks.
I have to commend you on another job well done. I think Andromeda's curiosity and Remus's cautiousness here, really work well together. I'm pleased to hear that you'll be writing Teddy's birth in the near future. I was wondering if you'd do so, considering it IS April now, and that Teddy was born sometime in April, so the timing is perfect.
Keep writing!

I hope I'll finish this soon, but I don't know quite when. (...And Teddy might or might not arrive in this particular story, heh heh.)

I can't wait to read more. I'm loving the "Great Tonks-Lupin Panic of 1998" so far :)

I really hope to read the rest of this, and see how the muggle doctors handle Teddy's changing hair!
