Oooh! I love this, especially the perspective! I like how Tonks and Remus are kind of hiding behind the pillars- I kind of expect either the choir or some Death Eaters to come barging in at any minute! Watercolour is one of the most beautiful mediums, I think, and you've really done well with this!

Thank you! The idea of doing this sort of perspective was really interesting to me, even besides the fact that I hardly ever do backgrounds and architecture. ;) I love watercolours as well and plan to practice much more with them.

Thanks again for looking!

Oh, I think this is marvelous. The buttresses (I think that's it) across the ceiling are wonderfully realized, and the light cutting between Remus and Dora suggests that there's church dirt and dust they've stirred although attempting a stealthy entrance (wow - sounds like someone could have wrote a scene from a fic?)

I love the perspective you picked. It's exaggerated but so what? It's symbolic of being either a grand shelter or a grand battlefield. Who knows which?

And I think Dora is just right. She's at the ready, and it suits her.

EDIT: Your color palette achieves a great result - grey and washed out blue cause Remus and Dora to snap into the eye. Well chosen.

♥ this.

*looks up buttresses* yes, I think that might be what I have drawn. ;) They came out really well and were actually a last minute idea. I was hoping to entertain your eye after making it travel up along those huge pillars. The dust was also last minute, but seems to fall in well with the rather old look of the pillars. A neglected church?

The perspective was the best part! I kept measuring as I was doing the lines, because it seemed so whacky, but supposedly it lines up. An epic angle that sets the stage for large events. (perhaps, or maybe they just hide there till darkness and sneak out again. Who is to know?)

Dora is constantly vigilant. Mad-Eye would have been proud. LOL. Thanks for looking and the wonderful comment. :D &hearts

I really like this- how Tonks and Remus are the first things that really stand out, and then your eyes follow the Church upwards. I'm doing an project for art class with watercolours right now, so I understand trials of watercolour.

Well done!

Thank you so much for commenting! I'm happy you like my composition choices and that I have succesfully manipulated you to look all over the drawing. ;) Good luck with your art class project - watercolours are hard, but immensily rewarding when you get it right. :D

Oh wow, this painting is such a perfect example of in medias res -- throwing us into the middle of a story that I very much want to know what led Remus and Tonks to this point and what will happen next! Maybe they'll decide to get hitched while they're on the run from Death Eaters. ;) This is so thoughtful, I can't believe it was just a backup plan! Hope you're feeling better and that we'll see your other idea sometime. :)

Thank you! I'm really happy this painting makes you want to know more, makes you wonder the how and what of their current situation and even imagine what might happen next. :D That means I did something right here.

I'm feeling much better now thank you! And I believe that my other idea will unfold all the better for not necessarily having to fit into the prompts. ;) This was probably the best solution all around.

Love the scale and perspective! Remus and Tonks really pop to the forefront. They stand out in a way that makes it clear that they are from a different world. so nice! Thanks for posting!

Thank you! The scale and the perspective were what made it fun to do. And I'm happy that my choices in composition and colour draw your eye to Remus and Tonks and tell you something about them. Thank you for leaving a comment!
