WOW!

That is so powerful, you're going to have me sobbing at my desk!!

And that's all I can say, because I really am going to start crying. That is incredible, really well done!

Gosh, I'm so sorry. There, there.

The death of Remus and Tonks hit me hard, too. I'm still not over it (and it's a little embarrassing to feel this much grief over fictional characters - but on LJ, at least I'm in good company!)

Oh wow.

This is an immensely powerful piece of artwork. You've given Hogwarts and Bellatrix such a suitably nightmarish quality for the setting (reminds me a lot of Edvard Munch's Scream, but then there's such serenity in Remus' hand taking Tonks' to guide her into the afterlife. It really takes the edge off the tragedy to see it there depicted with so much love between them. And all that in a pair of hands!

You continue to outdo yourself, and I hope we continue to see more art from you in this Jumble! And remember, if you exhaust these prompts, you can always come back for more!

Thank you for your comment. I was really trying to juxtapose the serene with the terrifying.

It really takes the edge off the tragedy to see it there depicted with so much love between them

See, I feel the opposite: "WHY, WHY????? But they were so in luuuuuuuuv!"

I will never exhaust these prompts! I have so many art bunnies in my head, my ears are beginning to itch! Bwahahahaha!

This really does have the wow, sit-up-and-make-me-stare-at-my-screen factor. The background and colours of Bellatrix and Hogwarts are so dramatic, and so completely nightmarish, yet those two hands are so serene and reassuring and real in comparison. It's as though the background has already been left behind as a ghost. I love the moon and the one side of Hogwarts being seemingly on fire, as well as Bellatrix's claw-like, inhuman hand.

It's lovely that the handclasp and public acknowledgement of love and being together in HBP is repeated at the very end.

Wonderful!:D

Thanks for noticing the handholding thing with the grief. My first thought for this involved otherworldly!Remus holding Tonks who was being done in, execution style, by Bellatrix.
But I didn't do it because a) that's sick! (of course, that hasn't stopped me yet) and b) my mind skipped across Dumbledore's funeral and just thought, 'now that's how they console each other in grief!'

I'm so glad you like this piece!

A piece of artwork has never made me cry before, but I'm sitting here doing just that. It's such a powerful piece that I don't really know where to start, but what strikes me most, I think, is how delicate Tonks' hand is and how gently Remus appears to be taking it. (It's probably not the time to be fixating on how sexy his hand is, but it is...) The way they're touching is so serene in contrast to the hellish image of Bellatrix and Hogwarts looking so sinister behind her. I think this is truly stunning and I hope you're very pleased with it. :)

*wipes tears* I'm still not over their deaths.

*snort*

You go from tears to fantasizing about Remus' hands? You and your racy icons XD

Thanks so much for your comment and all that you noticed about this piece and its contrasts. I fussed with it so much that I'm oddly detached from it - probably just because it was an experiment in style (whatever that is).

This is amazing! It's so sad, and so touching and I just love how you caught this scene, and of course Remus would be there easing her to the afterlife.

Job well done!

Thank you.

I have to believe for the sake of my own real grief over these two fictional characters that Remus was there for her and they were united in death.
